Oscar sighed. “I’m tired of hookups,” he said honestly. “It’s just the same thing over and over, cute guy turns up and gets off and then never calls again.”
“Because you push them away,” Finn said. “Because you’re scared of getting hurt.”
“Ouch.” Oscar winced. Finn had a way of saying the things he needed to hear, but absolutely didn’twantto hear.
“You don’t like it, you know what to do,” Finn said, apparently not about to pull any punches right now.
“People who haven’t gotten laid in a year don’t get to throw stones,” Oscar retorted.
“Oh,ouch. Okay, fine. Your love life is your own, no more judgement from me.”
“I still love you,” Oscar said. “For the record.”
“Feeling’s mutual.” Finn smiled a small, tired smile at him. “At least we can be hopeless and die alone together.”
Oscar chuckled. That sounded about right.
