Enthusiasm was definitely something he had. Maybe Ryan was right.
“So…” Ryan shifted his weight, glancing at the clock over the sink behind Oscar.
“Right, we should go,” Oscar said, knowing that they could easily have afforded to wait another fifteen minutes, but sensing that Ryan was the kind of person who liked to be on time.
Which meantearly, in Oscar’s experience, and normally he might have fought against it, but… he didn’t want to upset Ryan. Especially not when he looked outright edible.
“I figured we’d take my car?”
“You mean since mine looks like I drove it through the swamp out there?” Oscar asked, grinned at him as he stood.
He didn’t pull off a suit nearly as flawlessly as Ryan did, but he liked to think he had a kind of casual, devil-may-care look going on. As opposed to just looking scruffy.
“I wasn’t gonna say anything,” Ryan responded, a tiny, shy smile turning up one corner of his mouth. “But yeah, maybe a little.”
“Lead the way,” Oscar said, gesturing for Ryan to go ahead of him.
Definitely not so he could check out his butt as he walked to the car.
Well.
Maybe alittleso he could check out his butt. Which, by the way, was great. He didn’t suffer atallfrom mostly sitting down for work.
Probably one of those disgustingly lucky people who was naturally built like a Greek marble. Not that Oscar minded, as long as he got to enjoy the view.
His heart fluttered as Ryan held the door open for him, a tiny show of chivalry that he absolutely hadn’t expected—and never got from anyone else. It wasn’t that he wanted or evenneededit, really, but it was still nice.
Ryan was nice. Above everything else, he wassweet. Even if he liked accountancy and turning up to events on time.
No one was perfect, after all, and people this cute got a little leeway.
