Now that Emma was moving down here… it wouldn’t happen again. He’d never answer the door to her in his underwear with the boy of the night shouting filthy things in his general direction again.

It was the end of an era.

They hadn’t been the closest siblings since Seth had moved out, but he was going to miss her.

Oz had stopped him from processing that last night, so now it was all hitting him at once.

“Hey,” Oz said, waving to them. “Guess we’re all leaving at the same time, huh?”

“Weren’t you gonna drive home after?” Mason asked, raising an eyebrow and looking between them.

Like his brother, he was obviously a smart man. Seth assumed he’d get to know him over time, but he also thought he might have had a head start. They were definitely brothers. They could have been mistaken for twins in low lighting, though Mason was even taller again than Oz.

Emma looked tiny next to him, but happy.

Maybe he’d been wrong. Maybe they really were in love, and he just couldn’t bring himself to believe it. His little sister having her life more put-together than his was awkward, to say the least.

“I was, uh, tired?” Oz tried. He was a terrible liar, and Seth could practically see the cogs turning in Mason’s head.

A moment later, his eyes widened.

Seth braced himself for a shouting match.

Instead, Mason blushed, looking away from both of them. In what seemed like a normal, brotherly way.

Maybe it was just Oz’s parents who were assholes. The thought that Mason might hate him for who he was had been playing on Seth’s mind a lot over the last few days, ever since Emma had asked him to be subtle.

He wouldn’t have been subtle for anyone else on Earth.

Mason, apparently, didn’t so much mind that Oz was gay. He did seem to be a little uncomfortable with knowing that his older brother had sex. Which was fair.

“Hey, uh, did you want to go to breakfast with me?” Seth asked as though he hadn’t just spent the night with Oz, more out of the desire to confuse Mason even more than to hide what they’d been doing.

If he couldn’t torture both of his new brothers-in-law a little, what was the point in even having them?

Oz blinked at him, confused.

“It’s fine if you don’t have time, but we were having a really interesting conversation last night and I was thinking we could continue it.”

“Oh, uh.” Oz scratched the back of his neck, apparently catching on slowly. “Yeah, sure. I know a place around here, even. It’s my hometown, after all.”

Seth fought not to laugh at Oz’s terrible attempt at covering up. He exchanged a glance with Emma, who’d obviously figured out exactly what was going on, judging by the look in her eyes.

She’d tell Mason in a minute, but until then, it was fun to watch both of them squirm. They were cute.

“Lead the way, then,” Seth said, gesturing for Oz to go first.

Oz didn’t hesitate this time, turning to head for the front door. Seth winked at Emma as he followed, still forcing himself not to laugh.

That lasted until they were out of sight and Seth couldn’t help himself anymore, bursting into laughter as he and Oz turned the corner.

Oz looked at him, but Seth’s phone vibrated at the same time, and he took it out to see if it was anything important.

You already slept with him, didn’t you?

Seth laughed again, tears welling up in his eyes, gasping for breath.

“Are you okay?” Oz asked, pausing to let Seth catch up.
