Huh. Maybe it was intended as a compliment, after all. Maybe Seth just wasn’t used to giving them out.

Maybe Oz wasn’t all that used to hearing them.

There was obviously more to Seth than first met the eye. Oz was quickly realizing he was a complex person. Self-aware. A little cynical, maybe. There was a whole lot going on that Oz didn’t know about yet.

He was starting to think he’d like to know, though. As much as he would have liked to pretend he was only interested in seeing Seth again because the sex had been great, there was more to it than that.

Thank you anyway, Oz texted.See you bright and early Saturday.

I promise you’ll see me. I make no promises about being bright or early.

Oz chuckled again. He was really looking forward to seeing Seth.

Chapter Eight

The moment Oz walked out of the bedroom all dressed up, Seth nearly swallowed his own tongue.

He’d always thought of himself as someone who cleaned up just fine, but when Oz was really trying? He was stunning.

From the tips of his perfectly-polished shoes to the collar of his stark white dress shirt, complete with silver-set mother-of-pearl buttons, everything about him was perfect. His hair was slicked back neatly, his shave was perfect.

Even his lips looked softer, although that part might have been Seth’s imagination. He hadn’t kissed Oz nearly enough last time.

He was never sure he should admit to wanting to be kissed. It sounded needy to his own ears, so it must have sounded even worse to other people’s. He didn’t want to be thought of as a needy person.

“You’re staring,” Oz said, still waiting for a response from Seth. He’d probably asked how he looked at some point.

Seth had been too busy mentally peeling the suit back off him, pushing him down on the bed, and riding him until his knees gave out to give him an answer.

“We should have sex,” Seth said.

Oz laughed, a pretty, shy blush coloring his cheeks and making his ears go red. That was probably why he was so fond of his hat, which he’d left at home this time around.

Not that he didn’t look great in it, but he also looked great out of it.

Oz would probably have looked great in anything. He was a beautiful man, and Seth still wasn’t sure why he was even a little interested. At the wedding, they’d been the only two gay men there. Now… he could have had his pick.

Seth felt he was a strange choice for someone like Oz.

“So I look okay, then?” Oz grinned at him. He seemed to be getting used to Seth’s way of expressing himself, which was nice.

Oz was generally nice. Everything about him was very comfortable.

“Yes,” Seth said finally. “This is already worth it.”

“Good.” Oz blushed again.

“Are you sure we can’t just skip the wedding and go straight to the sex? Because I forgot how hot you were.”

“Ashley’s only getting married once,” Oz said. “Besides, it’ll be hotter if you have to wait.”

Seth wanted to argue, but he couldn’t fault that logic. If he was eager now, he’d be desperate later. Everything was better with a little desperation in the mix.

Two could play at that game, though. If Oz was making him wait, he could make the wait a whole lot more intense.

Closing the gap between them, Seth looked Oz up and down one more time, and then stopped in front of him. He met Oz’s eyes for a handful of seconds, holding his gaze steadily, and then finally gave in to the urge to kiss him, even though he wasn’t sure they were people who kissed outside of sex.
