Immediately, he wraps his arms around me, kissing me with passion and emotion.
“Jules,” he mumbles softly against my lips, then pulls back to look me in the eyes.
My heart beats wildly against my chest. Something I’m not sure he’s ready for passes between us.
He says he doesn’t want more than casual. I may be young and inexperienced, but I know what he tells me is a lie.
Whether he knows it or not, sooner or later, he’ll figure it out, and I hopewecan handle it…together.
For now, I’ll wait and take anything I can get from him.
The sky illuminates as lightning hits, and soon after, a loud boom of thunder rumbles over the city.
Without hesitation, he jumps up and leans in to pick me up. I don’t protest because I know he won’t put me down.
Somehow, with magical muscles, he leans back down, me still in his arms, picks up our important belongings, and runs us into the house.
We leave a trail of water as he walks the hall with me in tow before entering a sleek, all-white, and gray marble bathroom that’s the size of my bedroom. I glance down at his chest to his butterfly tattoo and wonder the meaning behind it.
Earlier when I put my hand on it, he nonchalantly removed it, like he did the first night we were together.
“One sec, let me grab a clean towel,” he says, placing me on the ground, then searches the linen closet.
He bends and starts to dry up my legs…I feel it before he sees it, and it’s clearly not rainwater.
I look down as he pauses once he gets closer to my private parts. “I’m on birth control,” I whisper.
His body is frozen, and his eyes widen as he takes in the come dripping down my inner thigh.
Neither of us remembered a condom.
I pull him up and cup his face, pressing my lips to his, kissing him to distract the freakout he’s about to have.
It must work because condoms areforgottentwo more times after.
It’s late.
Claud called Harrison a while ago to say goodnight, and Becks texted me numerous times. They all went out after Italy won and are only getting home now.
Thank God we left the bar when we did. I would have never been able to handle a long day out drinking like that.
Becks is also now in love with Nate and Leo, so she thinks Harrison’s not as bad as she thought. For once, her opinion wouldn’t have mattered, though I’m happy she’s getting on board.
“I should go,” I say reluctantly, not only because I don’t want to leave the beautiful man lying beside me but because my body is screaming in soreness.
“No, stay.” His eyes beg me.
Curling into the curve of his warm body, I place my head on his chest and ask, “Are you sure?” I don’t want him to feel obligated.
He nods without hesitation.
“Okay, the bakery’s closed tomorrow, so no early morning for me. I’ll need to call my mom.”
“What? You’re joking,” he sniggers. “I know you’re young, but fuck, you need to call her and tell her?”
“I live with my mom, Harrison,” I mumble into his manly scent. God, everything about him drives me crazy. “It’s just the two of us, so it’s common courtesy. She was expecting me home hours ago.”
“You still live there, above the bakery?”
