“Why not? Clearly, she’s doing it for you. I’ve never seen you like this before.”
I shrug. I have nothing to say.
He knows I don’t date.
“Wait a second,” he walks around to sit next to me, glaring at me with concern. “What is this about? Tell me why you’re not pursuing her.”
Again, I don’t answer.
“Harrison. Don’t tell me you’re still keeping your promise to Seb?”
“Just leave it, Nate.”
The group of girls dancing in front of us moves over, and my eyes narrow in on the one front and center.
Shit. She’s stunning.
Tall, with toned legs, and a tight white dress showing off her every curve. She throws her head back and rakes her hands through her hair, moving with ease as the song continues.
She turns to the side, and I see her wide smile, laughing at whatever the other person is saying next to her. The songswitches, and she tosses her hands up, swiveling her hips to the beat.
It’s the first time I’ve reacted to someone since meeting Jules.
“Are you listening to me?” Nate snaps.
“No.” I’m too engrossed in the scene before me, and then it clicks.
I know her.
“Who are you staring at? The hot one in the white dress?”
I nod. “We flirted a few weeks ago at Labo. Remember the night we all went there for dinner?”
“Yeah. I don’t remember her, though.”
“You guys left, and I ran into a client and stayed for drinks. We were pretty much eye fucking each other all night.” She feels so familiar, and we barely talked.
I bite my lip as she shakes her ass. Clearly, my body is on the same page.
I’m fucking turned on.
But at the same time, I don’t stop thinking about Jules, even as I watch the goddess right in front of me.
Fuck’s sake.
I lean down and bury my head in my hands. Most guys would love to have this problem.
Me? Not so much.
“What’s with him?” Leo asks Nate as he walks up to us, Matteo by his side.
I shake his hand and wish him a happy birthday and congrats on the club investment. He’s been working the room the whole night, and I’ve barely gotten to talk to him.
Nate points to me, “Did you know this idiot hasn’t dated anyone in all these years because of that dumb promise he made Sebastian?”
“What? Seriously?” Leo looks flabbergasted, “That’s idiotic. If you met someone, he would understand if you talked to him.”
I raise a sarcastic brow. “Really?”
