I shrug. “Who knows? Maybe, maybe not. Leo has a girl in every city. He’s a bit of a modern-day Casanova. Falling in and out of love with every girl he meets.”
“Please tell me you’ve never done that.” She cringes at the thought.
“You should know I’m much more private than those two by now. The same goes for Seb. You’ll never see anything about us anywhere, post-college at least.”
She scrubs her face. “I wish I didn’t see that. That’s all I’ll think of when I see him.”
“Yeah. You better fucking not think of my brother getting his dick sucked.” I bark.
“Well,” she raises her voice and throws her hands up. You shouldn’t have had it open on your phone for me to see.”
“I don’t care. Erase it from your memory.” I warn.
My phone rings this time, and I almost ignore it but see it’s Rosa calling. I tell Jules I need to take it, knowing they’re in Spain and it’s getting late there.
“Hi, Mom.”
“You’re expected at Sunday dinner the day we get home in three weeks,” she quickly says.
“No hello, how are you? How’s Claud?”
“I need to go, and I expect Juliette to be in attendance.” She hangs up without another word.
Fuck.
I turn toward Jules, who is now hand in hand with Claud, laughing hysterically at the silly faces she’s making. She turnsback, with a smile on her face and laughing tears in her eyes, waving me closer to them.
I hope she’s ready because she’s one of us now.
There’s no turning back.
“What are you two doing here?” I glance up at Nate and Leo as they walk through my office door, Skye trailing behind them. Her ears perk up when I open my desk drawer—where Claud stores extra treats and toys—quickly trotting toward me. I scratch behind her ear, causing her to melt into the floor along my feet, where I’m sure she’ll lie the rest of the time she’s here. “And where the hell is Lauren? I told her no one is to come back here until after I finish with Seb.”
“We’re here to mediate and support,” Leo announces. “And you know Lauren listens to us more than you.”
These two fucking idiots. “He’ll lose his fucking mind if we all gang up on him. What’s wrong with you two?”
Leo goes to the bar and pours four drinks. “We’ll need these.”
“And who the fuck told Mom about Juliette? She’s demanding we come to dinner when she’s home.”
“Claud told her about her friend.” Nate laughs with a cocky smirk. “We only confirmed she may be a little more than a friend.”
Leo passes out the drinks just as Sebastian walks in. He takes the drink and looks down, confused. “Are we celebrating?”
Nate raises an eyebrow and looks between us. “Some will be, some won’t be, I’m sure.” He mumbles.
I lean my head back against my office chair and close my eyes, attempting to gain some patience.
“Nate and Leo are just leaving,” I say as Thing One and Thing Two sit on the couch.
Leo sips his scotch. “Are we, though?” he mumbles against the glass.
Fuck’s sake.
“Weren’t you supposed to be away until the end of the week?” I ask Nate.
“Don’t remind me.” He turns toward Seb. “When did we land—five hours ago? Then I leave again in forty-eight hours.”
