“It seems silly now when I interrupt you dealing with your super successful company. My issues are minuscule compared to yours, but I had a stressful day, and it’s hitting me I guess. I needed some time. I’m getting ready now, though. I promise.”

“Don’t do that,” he bites. “Don’t?—”

“I won’t. I won’t,” I cut him off, not wanting to get into an argument over the phone. “My issues are important too, I know. I’m sorry. Let’s not make it a thing. I need to get ready.”

“Okay…” he sighs. “Matteo is leaving now to get the girls, and I’m going to leave with him and get ready with you.”

I pause mid-step. “You don’t have to do that.”

“I know I don’t have to. But I want to.”

“But you have the mid-year?—”

“Juliette,” he sighs. “I said I’m coming. End of story.”

Then he hangs up without saying goodbye.

“Hi, baby.” The deep, dark rasp I love has my head snapping up.

His lips twist in a cocky grin, and I giggle. Unable to help myself, I drop my blush, jump up, and run into his arms.

It’s like an instant mood booster being wrapped up in his arms, my body pressed against him.

I kiss his lips, but it takes him a second to kiss me in return, which is totally unlike him, so as quickly as I kiss him, I pull back and realize what I’ve done.

I lean away and drop my feet to the ground. “I’m so sorry, Harrison. I lost my head. I forgot everyone was here.”

Turning around, I find Adriana and Carrie staring at us with slack jaws. Becks looks concerned and Matteo, amused.Fuck. “I’m sorry,” I say again, whispering this time, then drop my head, embarrassed.

“Mon petit papillon,” he murmurs for only me to hear.

I stand frozen.

Since getting together, he hasn’t used that name, and I hadn’t realized how much I missed it.

He lifts my chin and looks me in the eyes. There’s a war going on in his, but his gaze is still unwavering.

“Fuck it.” He cups my cheeks and smashes his lips to mine with such passion that it shocks me to my core.

He doesn’t hold back, opening so our tongues slowly dance together, and when I let out a soft moan, he breaks our kiss, stretching his mouth into a smile against me.

“We can kiss in front of your friends. It’s Sebastian I need to worry about. That’s it,” he whispers against my lips.

“Okay,” I reply and pucker my lips for one last kiss.

He kisses me back, then trails his plump lips along my jaw, dipping his head to linger against my beauty mark, nuzzling his face in my neck until I pull back.

His eyes glow with an inner fire I’d never seen before; this is how it’s been all week. Discovering sides of each other that are new and exciting but equally frightening because the more I learn about Harrison, the more I want from him.

“Okay, then. You two, nice little show, but our plane’s leaving soon, so we need to get out of here,” Matteo says, breaking up our private moment.

Wait.

“Plane?”

Carrie nods and shimmies her body all around. “A free vacation and we’re taking a PJ, as the rich kids like to call private jets. What is this life?” She chugs the rest of her drink, and her infectious attitude has me smiling ear to ear for her.

She deserves it.
