I took a deep breath and released it before I lost my shit. The events of the day hadn’t given me a lot of patience for this, but I knew she didn’t know anything so I kept it civil.
“Get some rest, Or. We have an impromptu party tonight.”
“Ooh, really?” she asked, her excitement growing. “Will Sher be back?”
“Yeah, they’re on their way back now,” I told her. “Go sleep. I’ll come by to pick you up tonight.”
“Can I wear anything?” she asked me.
I could already feel the feral growl coming from my chest. “You need to wear clothing, Orla.”
“I know that,” she giggled. “But I want to show off myass tattoo.”
My cock jumped with joy at the thought of her showing off her possessive tattoo.
“You know you can do that, but I don’t think you own anythingthatrevealing.”
“Yee of little faith,” she said. “I’ll be ready by six.”
“See ya then.”
I hung up and willed my cock to sit the fuck down. The sound of construction caught my attention, and I headed in the direction of it. When I opened the door to the shed off from the garage, I saw Kirby, Rebel and a few of the other club members in there, fixing up the place.
“What the hell?”
“Thought you wanted this for Orla’s studio,” Rebel offered.
“Well, yeah.”
“We’re patching it up so she can start working on our tatts for us. Kirby’s looking like a fucking blank canvas over here.”
“Shut the fuck up,” he replied, throwing a piece of drywall at Rebel who ducked and laughed.
Fuck.
It meant a lot for these fucking kids to be doing this without me asking them to. I didn’t want to show emotion, so I just nodded and told them to keep at it. Rebelnodded, realising my discomfort and telling me to get gone.
I headed back out, and toward the clubhouse, when I saw a car coming into the compound. I recognised the brunette coming my way with a shy smile.
“Tierney,” I said.
“Hey, little bro,” she said. “I just wanted to come by and offer a hand. Shona told me you were throwing a last minute get together. I can help.”
“You know Shona?”
She nodded. “Yeah, she…uh, well she helped me the other day, and I kinda owe her.”
Somehow, Orla’s words came back ‘don’t worry about it’.
“You the reason she has a bruise on her jaw?”
Tierney looked down at her feet, and instantly I felt bad. “Yeah, I…uh…needed help, and she was there.”
“What happened?” I asked her. Her eyes shot up, and I saw the pain behind them. I’d seen those same eyes when I spoke to Sheridan when it came to Ace, or even Orla when she’d been scared. “I know we have a strained relationship, but you are my sister. I can help you if you need me to.”
“I don’tneedyou to do anything.”
“Fuck, I’m sorry,” I said, realising she was pissed off. “I’m not good with this emotional shit.”
