She thought I only wanted to breed her. Was my attraction to her not obvious? And who was this ‘granny’ she kept mentioning? Was it—Was it a human male back on her planet?

No. Unlike the Virgons and Gemins, I did notshare. Melanie was mine. And I would convince her to stay. Even if I had to refrain from my breeding urges.

I am lucky to have you

Melanie

My body jolted in surprise when two strong arms snaked around my waist, pulling my back to a now strangely familiar muscled front.

“Shit, you scared me!”

Ghauro nuzzled his face in my hair, inhaling deeply. “Apologies, I did not mean to.”

Has he heard me talking to myself like a lunatic? No. He would have said something. Either agree or confront me about it…

“Why are you not in the water yet? There are no deadly fish and most predators drink farther down the river.”

Predators? Could have I been eaten while I was spiraling and he went to pick up clothes?

“I-I can’t swim.”

“You cannot swim?” he repeated, his voice low. Calm. Kinda appeasing. “Do you not have springs on Earth? Or rivers?”

He moved us closer to the water, not letting go of me, his naked body pushing against mine. “None that you’d want to swim in,” I said. “Polluted planet equals lots oftoxic shit. The one we can drink is treated many times, and even then, we’re not sure it’s one hundred percent safe.”

He hummed distractedly. The water now reached our ankles. Surprisingly, it wasn’t freezing cold but kind of warm, like it’s been heated by the sun for a long day even though it was morning. Ghauro bent forward to leave a trail of kisses from my neck to my shoulder, his hardening cock starting to press against my back.

We were knee deep now, and my heart started to race. Well,Iwas knee deep. It only reached his damn calves for now. Stupid giant.

“Huh…Ghauro? Can’t we just like…sit here? Where it’s safe?”

My husband didn’t answer and kept moving forward. I completely froze when the water reached my waist, refusing to move even as he tried to nudge me farther.

“We will not go too far,” he said. “We will stay within your depth.”

It didn’t reassure me. My body refused to move, stuck on the spot. Ghauro’s thumbs rubbed circles on my hip bones, but the panic was still slowly creeping in. The only water I could deal with was in a shower stall or in a glass.

When Ghauro managed to make me take another step, I turned around sharply with a breathless gasp and jumped, circling and holding his upper body like a koala would a tree.

“I can’t.” Damn the tremors in my voice. “I’ll drown.”

His arms closed around my middle and he kept moving, bumping his forehead and nose against mine softly.

“Why would I let you drown?”

Right. Dead human wife meant no baby for him. It meant that I’d be safe at least until I gave birth to his horned baby.Wait. Did baby Tauris have horns? Would Idiein labor?

“Unrelated and just out of curiosity…were you born with horns?” I asked, yelping as the water reachedhiswaist, and with my current position, mine too.

“No. They start coming out when we reach ten to fifteen years old.”

Puberty then. “Okay…Good.” Less chance for me to fucking die while pushing it out of me. “Dear god, aren’t we deep enough?”

What sounded like a chuckle escaped him and he finally stopped, the water reaching my breasts. I held him tighter as he moved toward a cluster of plants floating over the water.

“Can I wash you?”
