“And intelligent, and strong, and confident, and caring.” He took her nipple in his mouth. “I can’t get enough of you.”

Flora wrapped her legs around his waist and reached for his shoulders. Dylan eased himself into her. Her heels dug in his lower back as she moaned. Again and again, he drove into her. He pistoned faster and faster until her groans of pleasure filled the room, and her wetness covered her thighs.

She met every grind, pleasure singing over every inch of her skin. Staring up at the wolf, her eyes met his. His electric stare opened her soul. She loved him, and she could see in his deep, brown eyes he loved her too. He was her blanket, her protector, her world, and he was blind to it.

Dylan was so stuck in "what if’s" he couldn't comprehend her emotions. She’d have to make him see, make him feel what she does. She didn’t have any other choice.

Her orgasm shot from the base of her spine so hard she could've cried. Ecstasy filled her senses.

“My turn, baby girl.” Dylan fucked harder, riding out her orgasm and chasing his own. His hips jerked and his pace became rapid. His thick, burning cum filled her, and the groan that slipped from his lips made her shiver.

Thank fuck she wasn’t in heat. There would be no pregnancy scares today.

“God, Flora.”

“Goddess, Dylan.”

She laughed tiredly. Dylan pulled out and moved to lay next to her. His lean muscled arm wrapped around her, bringing her close. She felt her breathing come back down and her heartbeat slow.

“Flora?” Flora’s mom’s voice filtered through the room. Lola waited patiently on the other side of the door while Flora shot out of the bed, untangling herself from Dylan's warmth.

“One moment,” Flora yelled as Dylan’s hands playfully tried to drag her back into his bed. “What the fuck? Was she standing out there the whole time?”

“Come on, stay.”

“Dylan, my pants!” she gasped in disbelief. She ran to the closet and pulled a pair of leggings out.

“I said I’d buy you a new pair,” he said, still chuckling at the situation.

“Flora, I’m not calling your name again,” Lola said from the other side of the door.

“When did I become a teenager again?” she mumbled, putting her shoes on.

“Come back to bed, I'm not done cuddling.” Dylan smirked and patted the empty spot next to him.

“I don’t have time; she’s about to burst through the door!”

“Then wear this,” he said, getting up and grabbing a black teddy bear-type jacket and throwing it at Flora. “It’s cold outside. I’ll be waiting for my cuddle.” Flora rushed out the room with a giggle, closing the door tightly behind her while putting the jacket on. She was instantly surrounded by Dylan’s woodsy and mixed berry scent.

“He’s got you giggling like a schoolgirl, huh," Lola said, walking off toward down the hall. “Walk with me.”

“Of course.”

“What is your interest in this Pack?" Lola came in hot with the questioning. Flora knew she would. Her mother was never a bullshitter.

“I’m not sure. It's not up to me,” Flora answered. Regardless of whether Dylan became her mate or not, she couldn’t force her way into the Enchanted Pack. She still wasn’t sure how they felt after meeting her panther. They could say they were in awe or cool with it all they wanted, but she wouldn’t be able to tell until shit hit the fan. Would they still think she was so cool? Would they trust her not to kill them?

“Do you remember my friend Vlad?” They stepped into the Enchanted Pack’s backyard. The dense trees and bushes line an unmarked walkway, a pathway for privacy and protection. “He was a panther like us, more your dad’s friend than mine, and he fell in love many years ago. Have you met his wife?”

“No, I’ve only met Vlad a few times." Flora shrugged, shoving her cold hands into Dylan’s teddy bear jacket.

“His wife, Fern — don’t get me started on the name — is a fairy.”

Shock drenched Flora. A Shifteranda fairy? If she thought a wolf and a panther were societally mismatched, a fairy and a Shifter was even worse.

“How did that happen?”

“Fern’s family are travelers, and local diners werethehangout spot for Shifters,” she laughed, a glint of happiness in her eyes.
