“A penny for your thoughts,” she corrected, moving her gaze to him.

“I asked first,” Dylan chuckled, keeping hold of her hand.

“When did you get so funny?”

“When I met you,” he whispered. The room went quiet; the heat from their gaze building a tension that was about to choke Flora out.

“Do you want to go shopping with me?” Flora asked.

She wouldn’t call it asking him on a date, but she was trying to ask him to…be…with her. Physically, in her presence. She couldn’t figure out what the hell she was doing.

“Of course, that’s part of my job,” Dylan said, deflating Flora’s balloon of hope. Rolling her eyes, she slid off the bed, turning her back to hide the defeated look she knew her face would give away.

“I need new panties.” Lie. She didn’t, she had more than enough, but she felt the need to get back at him. Without saying anything, he moved off the bed, following her out the door.

DYLAN

She didn’t drag him to the undergarment store, but he knew he’d follow her anywhere, despite what he let her think. He couldn’t deny the blush that crept up his neck when she mentioned it, though. Following close behind Flora, she looked through racks of clothing. Stealing touches was all his mind would let him do, for now. Brushing her arm, fingers, back, anything that wouldn’t be deemed inappropriate. Dylan couldn’t figure out how to proceed with his feelings. He wouldn’t know until this attacker situation was over. Until then, he knew he had to wait.Ifhe could wait, however long it was, was the real test.

“What do you think?” Flora asked, holding up another one of those tiny tank tops.

“Isn’t it practically fall time now?”

“I could still wear it around the house, under sweaters,” she said as if it was obvious.

“It’s short but looks like something you’d wear,” he said, distracted by the feeling of being watched.

Turning abruptly into his chest, Flora whipped on her heel, looking up at him. Her hands landed flat on his chest, the shirt long gone on the floor between them.

“What’s going on?’ she muttered. Without his wolf hearing he probably wouldn’t have heard her. Leaning his head closer to hers, his brown eyes pierced her gaze. She could read him so well…

“Nothing you should worry about.”

“No, tell me.”

Dragging her hands lower, not quite yet publicly indecent, but pretty damn close. Dylan could feel his eyes begin to glow, focusing solely on her.

“I don’t have a good feeling.”

“Should we leave?” she asked. Her eyes trailed over the room, landing on a couple of smiling girls giggling and eyeing them together. He could only smirk at the glare forming on Flora’s face.

“No.”

“No?” Flora asked, scrunching her face in confusion.

“Definitely not, that’s what they’d want us to do.”

Kneeling, Dylan picked up the shirt, and dragged his hand up her outer leg.Two can play this game.“Now, will you stop death-glaring at those girls; they’re practically kids.”

“Yeah, only when they know, for the time being, you’re all mine,” Flora purred in his ear, dragging her nails up and down his chest. He’d have her do that forever if he could.

Mine.

For the time being.

That last bit sucker punched him in the gut.For now, will hopefully change into forever, into soul mates. Dylan and Flora Enchanted. Flora and Dylan Enchanted. It had a nice ring on it.
