Body. Heart. And yes, her very soul. He didn’t know it, of course. How could he? And she had no plans on telling him anytime soon. But deep down, Natalia finally accepted the fact that, for her, there’d never be another.
Not after tonight. Not when being with him felt so incredibly right. Because with Jagger, she finally felt like she belonged.
“Feels so good,” he growled with a pulse-racing thrust. “So perfect.” Another thrust.
She couldn’t believe it when she felt a second climax building. Normally, she was a one and done kind of girl. But with Jagger, like all things, sex was different.Shewas different in ways even she didn’t understand.
Sudden, intrusive thoughts about what would happen after tonight threatened to ruin the mood. Natalia assumed he’d be flying back to Chicago soon. He’d go on with his life, and she’d continue with hers.
She refused to think about any of that now, however. Because right now, he was still very much here.
Here. In her bed. Inside her in the most magnificent way. And from the way his movements had changed in the last few seconds, he was about to find his own release.
Natalia lifted her hips from the mattress, meeting him thrust for uneven thrust. Jagger moaned and grunted, the primal sounds encouraging her to do everything she could to get him there.
When his orgasm hit, it was like a tsunami of pleasure had poured over them both. Together, while connected in the most intimate way possible, they fell over the edge.
“Talia!” Jagger growled her name, his entire body stiffening as he came.
With her head thrown back and her eyes squeezed shut, Natalia arched her pelvis high against his. Together, they rode wave after wave of ecstasy unlike any she’d ever known. Bythe time the final remnants of their spine-tingling orgasms subsided, they lay side-by-side on her bed.
Minutes later, after another quick rinse in the shower—and a slow, languid kiss that made her already-weakened knees nearly collapse—they found their way back to her bed.
Jagger curled the front of his body against the back of hers, spooning her from behind. His lips pressed against the side of her neck, just below her ear.
“I’m going to find the person who’s been messing with you, Tal,” he vowed with a rumble.
The comment took her by surprise.
Natalia glanced up at his handsome face from over her shoulder, once again surprised by the man, himself. Lying in the moonlight with his arms wrapped around her, Jagger looked even sexier than before. How that was possible, she had no idea.
Perhaps it was his slightly mussed hair and the way he so clearly wanted to protect her. But he needed to know?—
“I’m not afraid of them, you know.”
Whoever they are.
He grinned, his fingertips reaching up to tuck some hair behind the ear he’d recently kissed.
“I know you aren’t.” He spoke softly. “But that doesn’t mean I still won’t do everything in my power to keep you safe.”
Did that mean?—
“You’re staying in D.C.?”
“Hell yes, I am.” His tone and expression were firm. “I’m not going anywhere until we catch the fucker who’s stalking you.”
As much it meant to hear those words, she felt compelled to point out the reality of the situation. “I’m not your responsibility, Jagger.”
“Ah, see, now that’s where you’re wrong.”
Natalia frowned. “Because we slept together one time?”
He gave a slow shake of his head. “There’s a helluva lot more between us than one night of amazing sex. I know it.” His lips pressed against hers. “And you know it, too.”
The man was right. What they shared went far deeper than a one-night-stand, and it was growing stronger with every second she lay in his comforting embrace.
Natalia settled herself back into her previous position, linking her fingers with his as their combined hands rested against her belly. Together, they drifted off into a peaceful slumber.
