As if reading her mind, he traced her jawline and whispered, “I really want to kiss you right now.”
Lexi’s heart pounded deep within her chest. In a bold move, she opened her legs, inviting him to come closer. Licking her lips, she asked softly, “So, what’s stopping you?”
And then she waited.
Just as she’d hoped, Trevor stepped between her splayed thighs. The rough denim covering his legs was oddly tantalizing as it brushed against her bare skin.
In a surprising move, he put an arm around her waist and pulled her to the edge of the slick, granite countertop.
Gasping, Lexi dropped the rest of her bacon and grabbed hold of his wide shoulders to steady herself. Their bodies were aligned perfectly, allowing her to feel the large bulge between his legs as it pressed against her core.
“I wanted to do this last night, but I was afraid you’d think I was taking advantage of you. You have to know, I would never—”
Lexi cut off whatever he was going to say when she cupped his face and pulled his mouth down to hers. She traced his lips with the tip of her tongue, hoping he’d understand.
Thankfully, he did.
After taking half a second to catch up, Trevor parted his lips and let her in. Their tongues met in a seductive duel, twirling and dancing around each other’s in the most amazing dance.
As they continued feeding from one another, Trevor slowly moved his fingers down to her hips and pulled his mouth from hers.
Lexi started to protest, but stayed quiet when he began leaving tiny, wet kisses along her jawline. She tilted her head to give him more access, gasping when he reached the pulse point on her neck.
Using his teeth, Trevor gently nibbled the sensitive spot. She moaned loudly, not even bothering to hold back her reaction.
He slid his hands beneath the shirt’s hem, his fingertips finding the soft, smooth skin of her tiny waist. Moving upward, he reached the bottom swell of her breasts. Trevor’s touch was electrifying, but she needed more.
Lexi arched her back, pushing her breasts toward him. Large, strong hands cupped the firm mounds, but it still wasn’t enough.
The shirt was so big and bulky...and it was getting in the way. Lexi decided it needed to go.
Without a word, she pulled back. Beautiful, brown eyes locked onto hers as she raised her arms into the air.
Knowing exactly what she wanted, Trevor lifted the shirt up and over her head, setting it on the counter beside her. His eyes slid down to her chest.
Lexi’s small but proportional breasts moved up and down with the steady rhythm of her heaving breaths. She knew they weren’t huge, so if he was a boob man...
“They’re not very big, but—”
Her words vanished when he gave her a swift kiss. His lips brushed against hers as he broke contact just long enough to say, “They’re perfect, angel.” He kissed her again, slowly this time. When he was finished, he whispered, “You’reperfect.”
They may have only had one sort-of date, but in that moment, Lexi didn’t care.
Trevor wasn’t just throwing out lines to get laid. The truth was there, in his eyes. She could hear them in his words. Feel them in his touch.
She couldn’t explain it, but the connection she felt with this man was unlike any she’d ever known. If her mother’s death taught her anything, it was that life was short. Sometimes you just had to close your eyes, take a leap, and pray you landed safely.
With that in mind, Lexi brushed her lips against his and whispered back, “Take me to bed.”
