“What if I don’t want to ignore it?” She pressed back against him. Again, his hand halted her movements.
She felt the low rumble of his laugh against her back. “As much as I’d love to slide into your gorgeous body again, we both need to recharge.”
As though he could see her pouty expression, Nate leaned over and used his fingers on her chin to turn her face toward his. He lowered his lips to hers, giving her one of the most loving, sensual kisses she’d ever had.
“Don’t worry, baby.” He brushed the tip of her nose with his. “This thing between us is just getting started.”
Gracie took her own kiss. When she finally pulled away, she smiled up at him and said, “You bet your ass it is.”
Chuckling, Nate pressed his lips to her forehead. “Get some sleep. I have a feeling we’re both going to need it.”
With his arms wrapped snuggly around her, Gracie laid her head back down and closed her eyes. She was still smiling when she fell asleep less than two minutes later.
The next morning, she woke to the aroma of something sweet and savory. She took a deep breath, inhaling the scent of bacon and brown sugar, and realized Nate was in the kitchen cooking them breakfast.
After a rushed shower to help wake herself up, Gracie threw on a pair of clean panties and her bra. Dressed in loose running shorts and a tank top, she put her hair up into a messy bun and brushed her teeth. Not bothering with makeup, she made her way to the front of the cabin.
Nate was standing at the stove with his back to her. He was shirtless and his hair was damp, as if he’d recently taken a shower, too.
The cargo shorts he wore hung loosely on his narrow hips, and she took a moment to appreciate the way his back muscles danced as he maneuvered the set of metal tongs over the hot pan full of sizzling bacon.
Gracie loved how the khaki material of his shorts was stretched taught over his rear. She thought of his powerful thrusts, her inner muscles flexing as she remembered how incredible it felt when he first pressed himself inside her.
“You gonna just stand there and stare, or come give me a proper good-morning kiss?”
Laughing, Gracie didn’t bother to ask how he knew she was there. She started toward him, the area between her thighs already beginning to feel heavy.
Though, she’d only been watching him for a couple minutes, it was enough to cause her sex to swell and ache with need.
Careful not to get too close to the popping grease, she stepped up to his side. “Good morning.”
He looked at her and smiled. “Mornin’, beautiful.”
Nate then leaned down and gave her the most fantastic greeting she’d ever had. Tasting of the same, minty toothpaste she’d used, Gracie took her time with the kiss.
A loud pop filled the air and she felt his body jerk in reaction. Breaking the kiss, she took a step back.
“Did it get you?”
He shrugged and rubbed a spot on his arm. “A little. Nothing major.”
“Can I help with anything?”
“Nope. This is done, actually.” He turned the burner off. “Just need to put it onto a plate.”
Moving around her, he reached into one of the cabinets and pulled one out. After covering it with a couple layers of paper towels, Nate moved the strips of bacon from the pan onto the plate.
Turning around, he rested back against the counter behind him, his hands loosely gripping its edge at his sides. “There’s French toast in the oven. It’ll be ready in about fifteen minutes.”
Fifteen minutes, huh?
Gracie knew exactly how she wanted to pass the time. Feeling bold, she said, “Perfect.”
Nate’s brows turned in. “Perfect? For what?”
“This.”
Reaching for the button on his shorts, she yanked it free before grasping the metal tab at the top of his zipper and pulling it all the way down.
