“My sweet man, I can take care of you.”She kissed him again, and they didn’t notice until minutes later that Rax and Mikki had left.
“After I rest up so I can enjoy and pleasure you properly,”He responded directly into her mind. Then he shared a vision of exactly how he would like to pleasure her and what she might do to please him.
Ajha lavished a wave of pure love into his mind as she hugged him. It soothed his battered soul like nothing else could after the things he had seen in Mikki’s mind. He sighed heartened by her affection and reciprocated in kind.
Finally, she got up so he could go to their bed and get some rest. She put her arm around his waist as he put his around her shoulders and they walked together the ten steps to their bedroom. Ajha helped him off with his clothes, and he fell into bed exhausted. She lay down beside him while he fell asleep but she couldn’t sleep anymore.
About twenty minutes after he’d fallen asleep, she got up and slipped out of the room to check in with the intake team on how many people had come to join them that day. She would know the moment he stirred awake.
Although her abilities were still maturing Ajha’s telepathic awareness of Calan was complete.
Chapter Fourteen
Rax took Mikki’s hand as they left Calan and Ajha’s flat. “You are tired from Calan’s treatment, too. Do you wish to go to your friend’s flat to rest?”
“Could I rest at yours?”
“Of course,” Rax said evenly suppressing the hope he felt rising inside.
He let them both into his flat with a direct link to its AI. Once the door slid closed behind them, Mikki turned to him.
“I really need a hug.”
Rax slid his arms around her and pulled her against him as she put her arms loosely around him and laid her head on his shoulder. He kissed the top of her head and stroked her soft curls with his big hand. Of course, he went hard as soon as her soft, warm curves pressed against his body.
When they had held each other for a minute or two, Mikki looked up into his eyes. She had never seen human eyes in quite that shade of blue. The dark passion she saw in his eyes was for her, and she realized she liked it.
“May I kiss you?” he asked softly.
“You’d better!” she smiled at him. God was he green! But so hot!
He lowered his lips to hers. They were firm yet warm and gentle. Even though it was his first real kiss, he seemed to know what to do as she opened his mouth to him. Mikki let out a soft moan at the first caress of his tongue against hers. She learned later that he’d done so in his virtual life while he was in stasis. He’d even had a virtual lover, but the relationship faded in his memory after he was awakened.
The people who made him learned that by giving a cyborg a virtual life in stasis, it gave the cyborgs a more rounded personality when they were released from combat duty. Generally, that part of his personality was suppressed in favor of his warrior instinct then freed when they were released from duty.
That hadn’t happened to Rax. No aspects of his personality had been suppressed. Calan had only provided enhancements from Cyborg Command. Then he let Rax download whatever skills he needed via the refuge AI system.
Rax kissed her long and slow, stroking her hair and rubbing her back as he did. Mikki found herself breathlessly staring into his face when he lifted his lips from hers. And she had thought him a romantic innocent. He knew exactly what he was doing.
“Wow!” she whispered.
“Now, do you believe you are my female?” he asked with a slight smile.
“I think I do,” she smiled back at him caressing the back of his head. “What’s that tickly sensation in my mouth?”
“Nanocybots,” he said. “They are in all my body fluids. Their purpose is to heal me if I am injured and block biological infections both natural and weaponized. They will do that for my female too.”
“Next, you’ll tell me you’re a psion, too.”
“No,” he said. “I don’t know of any psionic cyborgs. Hypothetically, it might be possible, but it would be coincidental. Genetic engineering had not progressed that far when I was created.”
“Well, after having Calan running around in my head, I can’t say I am sorry. Don’t get me wrong; I appreciate what he did,” she said. “But it was bizarre to be that connected to someone.”
“It seems natural to me because cyborgs were made to talk to each other through our cyber link,” he said. “I want to kiss you again, but if I do, I won’t want to stop with kisses.”
Mikki gently pulled from his embrace. “I’m feeling it, but I need rest right now. I’ve been up for twenty- four hours---since before Calan was shot.”
“Yes, you should rest.” He put his arm around her and steered her into one of the extra two bedrooms in his flat. “No one will disturb you here. Just call out for me if you need anything. I will hear you from anywhere in the refuge.”
