“Morning, handsome. I see your clothes are dry.”
“These were,” he said, referring to his boxers.
“I’ll see you in a minute, hunny.”
“Okay, boo.”I ended the call.
“Who was that?” he asked.
“Ebone. She’s coming over to drop off some clothes Kyiris picked out for us for the shoot.”
“Oh, aight. She texted me this morning. Said for us to be there by one o’clock. And damn, she done picked out the clothes too?” He chuckled and shook his head. “Key need to stop fuckin’ around and make this a business.”
“That’s what I said.” Turning the waffle maker, I pulled the waffle out and put it on a plate. “You want me to put the toppings on this one now or wait until I make your other one?”
“Nah. I want you to sit down and eat that one. I’ll make mine.”
“Orrrr I can eat mine and still make yours at the same time.”
He stared at me through squinted eyes. “You don’t want me using yo’ shit, huh?”
I tried to hold back my smirk, but I couldn’t. “I really don’t.” I laughed. “Baby, you gon’ burn my stuff.”
“You cold. Go head.”
Stepping aside, he let me continue.
A half hour later, Ebone pulled up, dropped the clothes off quickly, and left. There was a handwritten note attached to the bag from Kyiris that said, The theme is denim. Bring the sonogram. Taking the bag into the living room where Pryce sat on the couch, I laid everything out.
“Oh, this is cute,” I said, seeing the matching denim outfits from G-Star Raw. “Bae, look.”
“Yeah, that’s hard,” he agreed.
“I’m gonna start getting ready now. I gotta do my hair and stuff. I don’t wanna be late. Can you wash my hair for me? In the shower?”
“As long as you know you getting fucked in there, I can do that.”
“I was hoping so.”
I didn’t know if it was pregnancy that had me in heat or the fact that it had been a while since I had sex. Whatever it was, I was enjoying making up with Pryce.
“How many more angles wegotta do? My muhfuckin’ eyes hurting from all this flashing and shit,” Pryce complained.
I tried so hard not to laugh, but the way Key was ignoring him while continuing to direct us for the perfect shot was hilarious.
“Only a few more, bae.” I answered him.
“She doing this shit on purpose. We done stood here like mannequins for the last hour and a half.”
“Okay, Dai. Let your jacket drop off your shoulders and hold the sonogram up in front of him,” Key directed. “Spread it out so we can see the pictures.”
Pryce was missing the part where he let the directions go over his head, so it took longer to get the shot. I took the direction and did as she asked. And I was enjoying myself.
“That’s the one, Mike,” Key said like she’d been doing this her whole life.
“Okay. Three more then we good to go.”
“Mannn, count me out,” Pryce let out, frustrated.
