I wanted to finally be myself.
Maybe it was time to stop hiding.
Maybe it was time to step out of the shadows.
CHAPTER 15
ROBBIE
If someone had toldme a month ago that I’d be excited about museum leaflets, train timetables, and the ping of a message notification, I’d have laughed in their face. But that was before Ashton. Before the way he’d look at me like I was something worth discovering. Before the way, he’d blush when I teased him. Before the way he’d say my name like it meant something.
Now my days had a rhythm — an Ashton-shaped one.
“Earth to Robbie, earth to Robbie, come in Robbie?”
“Eeek!”Damn!Evan had snuck up on me again.
“Babe, you were totally spaced out. Were you thinking about your guy again?”
I thought about denying it, but-it was true. The littlest things could spark me off.Just the scent of his body spray makes me want to lean in and breathe him in.Don’t get me started on chocolate.Mmm, his eyes were just dreamy, twin pools of molten chocolate seduction.
And I was gone again, just picturing the way he looked at me.
“Hello?Robbie, cooee!Wakey, wakey, eggs and bakey.”
Ugh!Evan, I’d completely forgotten he was staying home this weekend.
“Are you going to finish getting dressed so we can head out, or are you just going to stand there in your underwear?”
Glancing down, I noted I had on one sock, my boxer briefs; the other sock having fallen from my fingers.
“Ah, yeah, I got a bit distracted.”
Grabbing the forgotten sock from the floor, I finished getting dressed.
Hair styled, sort of.
