He walks us to his room before gently setting me on the edge of the mattress. I spot my bag at the end of the bed and reach for it, pulling out my pyjamas and toothbrush. Mac steps back, giving me space to slide off and into his washroom. I quickly brush my teeth, and when I return to the bedroom, Mac is already under the covers with a book. I put my clothes in my bag and pull out my Kindle before sliding under the covers next to him.
I take my glasses off and place them on the nightstand, lying on my side facing away from him and trying to read my book. I’m on the edge of the mattress, putting as much distance between Mac and I as possible. I have no idea what I’m supposed to do here. We’re not a real couple, yet he wants to share a bed tosleep. He’s made zero moves to show that he wants to do more than sleep.
Just the knowledge that he’s less than a foot behind me has me unable to focus on my book. I’ve read the same page probably ten times and haven’t even comprehended a single sentence of it. My eyes flutter shut, and I think about what would happen if I were to shuffle closer to the centre of the bed, maybe rolled and faced him. What would he do? When I open my eyes, I notice that I did actually scoot back a few inches. I close my Kindle and put it on the nightstand, knowing I’m not going to get any actual reading done.
I close my eyes and focus on my breathing, hoping that thinking it about it will lull me to sleep. I should know better, it doesn’t, all it has me doing is worried if I’m breathing the right way. Am I holding my breath after I inhale? Am I not inhaling soon enough when I exhale. Stupid fucking questions to be asking myself, but they invade my brain like little worms trying to build homes.
After a few minutes, I feel one of Mac’s hands on my waist. I roll towards him slightly, enough that I can see him over my shoulder.
“Will you be warm enough?” he asks.
I nod, and his other hand comes up and his thumb runs over my cheek, I find myself leaning into his touch. I roll onto my back, and he leans closer. I take a chance and lean up to dust my lips over his. He kisses me back, his hand sliding across my stomach to my other side and pulling me close. I melt into him. As much as I’d love for Mac’s hand to wander my body, it stays perfectly still in its place on my side.
We kiss until we’re breathless. As we both work to catch our breath, he places soft kisses on my cheeks and the corner of my lips before we’re making out again. I’ve never understood the saying wanting to crawl a man like a tree until now. I want topress our bodies together, to be as close as possible, but I don’t. His lack of exploring my body has me staying right in this spot, enjoying the way his lips feel against mine; breathing the same air as him.
CHAPTER 22
Eliza
Mac breaks our kiss and rests his forehead against mine, brushing my hair away from my face. He stares at me, and I know I must look a mess right now. My cheeks are probably flushed and I can guarantee my lips are swollen, all while Mac continues to look like the picture of perfection.
“We should get some sleep,” he says, and I nod.
He places a chaste kiss against my lips, and I roll onto my back, staring at the ceiling as he rolls and faces away from me. I am all worked up now. I’ve never been turned on by kissing someone the way that I am with Mac. I squeeze my thighs together, trying to quench the need growing between them. As much as I enjoyed that make out session, I’m starting to regret it because now all I can think about is coming. I listen to Mac, his breathing is evening out, and it sounds like he’s just about to fall asleep. I give it a few minutes before my hand starts snaking its way down my front.
I slowly slip my hand under the waistband of my sleep shorts, doing my best to make as little noise as possible. My breathing hitches and I bite my lip as my finger grazes across my clit. Istifle my moan and squeeze my eyes closed. I let out a deep breath, and my fingers begin their movements again. My body is wound tighter than it ever has been before. Between being unbelievably turned on and doing everything I can to stay quiet and avoid waking up Mac, I feel like I’m about to snap like a rubber band pulled too tight.
As my fingers continue to work, I feel that rubber band pulling tighter. My toes curl in anticipation of the orgasm that I can feel about to tear through me. I bite my lip so hard I fear I might draw blood as my fingers swipe over my clit one last time, sending an orgasm more intense than I’ve ever experienced through me.
I try to even out my breathing, but I nearly jump out of my skin when Mac says, “You’re gorgeous when you come.”
My head whips towards him. In my chase of my orgasm, I never noticed he'd rolled to face me. My entire body is flushed with embarrassment, and it doesn’t go away when he reaches for my wrist, pulling my hand out of my sleep shorts and bringing my fingers that are covered in my arousal to his mouth. He wraps his lips around them and sucks on them. He moans, and I’m surprised when it sends a thrill through my body.
“Mac, I...” I don’t know what to say.
“Don’t be embarrassed. That was hot, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching.”
My brows shoot up, and my breath hitches.
“This is just how much I enjoyed it,” he says as he takes my hand that he just had in his mouth and places it over his very hard cock. My fingers instinctively wrap around it, and he groans. I pull my hand back, and he grins as his moves under his shorts.
“I think that it’s only fair that you get to watch me come now.”
My body is frozen, and I can’t stop staring at him. He looks right back at me, and I feel like I’m intruding, but I can’t seem to make myself move. Unlike me, Mac doesn’t suppress his sounds. I’m getting all hot and bothered again, but I just watch him, the way he stares at me as his hand works up and down his cock even though I can’t see what he’s actually doing between the dark and the blankets covering him.
His groan becomes low and guttural, and I think he’s about to come. I’m not wrong, but what surprises me is how he moans my name as his orgasm hits him.
“Fuck,” I moan.
Before he can gather himself, I slip out of bed and into the washroom. I do my business and then take myself in in the mirror. I’m a right mess. I do my best to quickly fix my hair and my top before heading back into the bedroom. Mac slips into the washroom behind me, and I quickly scramble to the bed, climbing in with my back to the centre and pulling the blankets up and tucking them under my chin as I squeeze my eyes shut.
Mac comes back to bed, and I can feel his eyes on me. I don’t move, hoping he’ll just lie down and go to sleep, but no such luck.
“Eliza,” he says, his voice soft.
I roll, facing him, and he his hand comes to my cheek, his thumb light dusting across my skin.
“Are you embarrassed or ashamed?” he asks.
