Her inner muscles begin to quiver. She’s close. I keep slamming into her, all my willpower focused on not coming before she does.

She twists her flushed face toward me.

“Don’t look back!” I bark.

She turns her face back down.

Did I hurt her feelings?Maybe. I don’t know. All I know I don’t want the beauty of her imminent orgasm marred by my mug.

My thrusts become brutal. Elise’s moans grow erratic. Her quiver intensifies. As she screams and unravels, skewered on my cock, I hold her steady and impale the full length of me inside her. The moment my tip touches her womb, I come undone.

Ten or fifteen minutes later as we lay in each other’s arms, she strokes my chest with a feathery touch. My hand slides down to her waist. I want more of her, more of the intense pleasure we just shared. I’m growing hard again when my phone rings.

I answer, hoping for good news.

But it’s Heidi.

“Your Highness,” she says.

“Hello.”

“Ah, you’re not alone… You’re busy.”

Perceptive as ever.“Yes. I’m sorry.”

“Oh no, it is I who should apologize!”

“You really shouldn’t.”

“I hope you’ll forgive my unannounced call,” she says. “But I just wanted to ascertain that you are well and ask when I will have the pleasure of seeing you again.”

“I’ll call you back.” Tossing my phone on the bed, I sit up.

This was a mistake.

It is my duty as crown prince and heir to the Evorian throne to marry Heidi. Max can afford to marry his Key to the Key, Lucie Laborde, a commoner from Lyon. He’s the third in line. My half brother, Arnaud, is the second in line and lucky that his Key to the Key is a gracious aristocrat from a family almost as old as ours. A true “blue blood.” My youngest sister Gigi, the fourth in line, can choose freely from among her many suitors, whom are all either noble born, rich, or both.

But I can’t choose Elise, not with her pedigree. And I can’t let Heidi down. I can’t let everyone down.

With a fleeting smile to Elise, I head to the bathroom for a quick shower and get dressed. She stays under the covers.

Once I’m ready to go, I approach her and press my lips to her forehead. “I’ll never forget this afternoon.”

“Neither will I.” She eyes me as I straighten up. “Must you leave now?”

“I’ll join the search party for the rest of the day.”

“You shouldn’t feel guilty about what we did, you know? Even if…” Her lips paint a gentle smile. “Even if Darrel and Jordan didn’t make it, you didn’t disrespect them.”

“I know.” I take a step toward the door then and turn around. “I won’t be back for dinner. Have the hotel charge the room, promise?”

“Will I see you tonight?”

My intention is to sleep in another hotel in one of the other villages or the nearest town.

I shake my head. “I’ll see tomorrow morning to say goodbye before I fly out to Normandy.”

“Fly?”
