Wolf had shot her.

A look of betrayal hung in her expression as she looked at him before she continued into the plane. The stairs were being pulled up. I saw him then.

Boris looked over at the stairs being pulled up and away from him, and he knew. He knew his daughter had betrayed him. I wondered if he felt sad knowing that, or if he was proud. It was probably the latter, knowing this sadistic bastard’s way of thinking. Viper finally took out the last minion. Boris noticed, and he slunk back on his ass. One of the bullets had hit him in the leg making him unable to move away, or fight.

I stood over him, looking down at the man who was in no doubt my father, just not my Dad. His eyes shone with disbelief as he looked up at me. He may have thought he wanted me as a son, but he had no idea what I’d become, knowing he’d killed my mother to get to me. As if I were a pawn in his little power game.

I would rather kill myself than dishonour her memory and sacrifice for this asshole.

“I am so proud of you, son.”

I spat on him, the saliva sitting under his eye as pure hatred washed over me for the man who gave me half my DNA.

“You would kill your father?”

He didn’t think I could. He had no idea what I was capable of, and he never would. He should have stayed in Italy.

“You could have gone free, living your existence in Italy, away from here. Then you came here and threatened my woman. That was your mistake. No one lays a hand on her but me.”

I pulled the trigger.

His dead, unseeing eyes were open as the blood pooled around his head on the tarmac. My nightmare was done.

Now, it was time to take care of Shona’s.

“Fuck,” I said as I watched the plane taxi down the runway with someone who could cause hell for me later on. “Can we shoot down the plane?”

Wolf chuckled. “Not likely with these weapons, I wouldn’t worry though. Tasi won’t retaliate.”

“How do you know?”

“She’s wanted power over your father for years. Now she has it being the eldest child born to him, and no sons around to claim the title. You stay away, and she won’t care.”

I looked at him, surprised he knew so much about them, and the fact he knew flawless Russian. Wolf had always been an enigma, but this was next level.

“Let’s head back.”

We moved to our bikes, along with the handful of Nomads who had joined us and we rode back to Kilkenny and to our compound.

I had a woman to see.

Shona

I paced the bedroom, wringing my fingers as I waited for him to return. We’d gotten word that Boris was dead and the danger from him was over. I was so relieved to hear Savage wasn’thurt, but now I knew he was really going to give it to me for leaving without someone with me.

I should have known better.

I’ve been in this club for so long, and I knew how dangerous it could be on a normal day, but while we knew a war was brewing…it was so fucking stupid.

I was about to march back outside and demand to know where they were when the door opened, and Savage stood in the doorway. His face looked worried until he kicked the door closed with his boot and closed the distance between us. I jumped into his arms and he wrapped his around my waist, holding me close.

We stayed like that for a few minutes before he put me back on my feet, his hand cupping the side of my jaw, fingers moving over the sore part of my face where the tape had been.

“I’m so fucking sorry,” he said, his voice broken with emotion.

“Niall…this isn’t your fault.”

“Yes, it fucking is.”
