I flirted like hell, yes, but I dropped her off after the event and didn’t even go into her apartment.

She wanted me to, let me tell you. But I lied and said I had an early morning the next day.

Hell, even over this past week and a half away from home, theguys have been fully expecting to hear about some kind of sex shenanigans from me.

Since I don’t have any, I told them a story about meeting up with and bedding an old fuck buddy of mine in one of the cities we were playing in.

I didn’t actually hook up with her, though. I didn’t see her at all. I probably could have called that old “friend,” but I just wasn’t feeling it.

Fuck, it’s that damn Madison again!

Cockblocking me, and I don’t even know her.

Okay, that’s it. I must have her at least once, if only to get her off my fucking mind and out of my head.

Shit, I’m not even acting like myself anymore.

This is bad.Reallybad.

I’m never obsessed like this.

Good thing I have a plan to remedy this situation—I’m going to talk with Easton about setting me up on a date with Madison. Surely he can make that happen. After all, his new wife is her best friend.

Then I’ll be set. I can meet Madison, let the sparks fly, get her in my bed, and then move the fuck on.

Well, maybe I’ll get with her a few times.

She’s just that fucking hot.

First, though, let’s get to work on step one.

The team is heading back to Phoenix today. We’re on a chartered bus right now, on our way to the airport so we can fly back on the team jet. I’m currently sitting next to Shane, who’s had his earbuds in the whole way.

That’s fine; it’s not him I need to talk to. Easton is the target.

Unfortunately, he’s in the front row of the bus. One of our teammates was already in the seat next to him when I got on.

No worries. I’ll try to sit next to him on the plane.

Shit, we’re stopping now.

Nudging Shane, I wave my hand at his head to indicate I want to ask him something.

Once he takes out his earbuds, I say, “Hey, I’m going to sit with Easton on the plane, okay?”

He frowns and says, “Aw, man, I’m sorry I had my buds in. I was just listening to some music. I could’ve ditched them, though, if you wanted to talk.”

Man, Shane is such a nice dude.

“No, no.” I shake my head and chuckle. “All’s good. I just have something I need to ask Easton.”

He looks relieved. “Okay, that’s cool.”

My teammates and I pour out of the bus and board the plane.

Thank God no one is sitting next to Easton. I plop down beside him with a release of a breath.

“Hey, man,” he says with a welcoming nod.
