I then come back down and settle in on the sofa in the living room to wait for my man.

It makes me smile that, despite what we’ve agreed to, he kind of is becoming exactly that—my man.

The locker room was more raucous than usual, what with our big win and all. Coach also wanted to congratulate us on playing a smart game, so it takes me longer than normal to shower and dress and finally get home.

I’m a little tired as I meander up my driveway, but I bounce right back to life when I see Madison’s car parked in front of my house.

I love that I’m coming home to her.

With a big smile on my face, I swing around her vehicle and pull into my garage. I’ll have to remind her that she can park inside if she wants. Maybe she forgot.

But first things first—I can’t wait to get into the house and be with my woman.

Once I finally step inside the mudroom off the garage, I blow out one long, relieved breath.

It’s good to be home and know that Madison, who is making me feel things I’ve never felt before in my life, is somewhere inside this house, waiting for me.

I’m betting she’s up in my bedroom, but when I pass by the living room, I notice there’s a lamp on in there.

Stepping in, I find Madison curled up and sound asleep on the long sofa.

Damn, if she doesn’t look absolutely adorable.

I walk over quietly to where she’s sleeping, so as not to rouseher.

It’s wild to think, but I swear she looks sexier than ever right now. It doesn’t matter that she has on an oversized Bears hoodie and leggings. In this moment, her simple attire is what makes her all the more desirable to me.

Sure, I love when she wears her hot-as-sin outfits, but I clearly like this look as well.

Carefully, I sit down next to where her head is resting on a throw pillow. A lock of her blonde hair is across her cheek, and I brush it back ever so softly.

She stirs a little but doesn’t wake up.

I may feel a little like a fucking creeper right now, but I don’t care. I just want to watch her sleep for a minute or two. She looks so peaceful and comfortable here in my home.

I want her to always feel this way in this house.

A few minutes pass, and then Madison shifts, making that lock of hair fall back onto her cheek.

Smiling, I brush it back once more.

And this time she wakes up.

A second of wide-eyed surprise quickly turns into what appears to be pure happiness. “Lennox,” she murmurs as she yawns and stretches out leisurely. “How long have you been home?”

“A few minutes,” I tell her. “Maybe a little longer.”

Sitting up next to me, she curls her legs up under her. “And you’ve been watching me sleep this whole time?”

“I have,” I admit.

With a smile, she teases, “Well, that must’ve been exciting.”

“It was nice,” I reply. “You looked so peaceful. It made me feel good.”

That damn unruly lock of hair is back out of place, but this time when I reach out to fix it, I tuck it behind her ear.

“Thank you,” she says with a smile.
