A couple more thrusts, and he stilled inside me. I contracted around him, savoring how he filled me, eradicating the hollowness in my soul, even if merely for a moment.

But eventually, our breathing slowly settled down. He pulled out of me, and I had to resort to biting back a protest. It meant the break of obliviousness was over.

“Wait here.” He swatted my butt, and chuckling at my shriek, went to rummage in the trunk.

Was it strange to stand with your pants tangled around your knees, cum dripping out of you, a kitten pressed to your chest, all the while you were somewhere on a desolate road, away from civilization?

Undeniably yes.

A bubble of laughter exploded out of me, and I clutched the passenger’s door to avoid sprawling onto the asphalt.

“What’s so funny?” Carrying a pack of tissues, Zion kissed my nose, causing my belly to flip, and knelt before me to clean me up. Unhinged or not, sometimes, he coaxed me to tremble from his affection.

“He didn’t run away.” I hoisted the kitten higher. “You literally just abused my pussy while I held him, and he didn’t so much as try to flee.”

Zion swept his nose up the inside of my thigh. “Even the cat knows you smell like perfection. And once you find it, you don’t let it go. Not even if you need to clip her wings.”

“You didn’t clip my wings. Youkidnappedme.” I scoffed. Truly, his obsession with comparing me to a bird sometimes made me question what he saw himself as.

“Same thing.” Scowling at the layers of fabric, he helped me pull back my panties, two pairs of leggings, and then my sweatpants.

“You—” A sharp crunch in the treeline cut me off. “What was that?” I searched the forest, but the daylight barely grazed the treeline. Pure blackness swirled deeper, and I shivered from the realization that anyone could’ve followed us here.

“Probably an elk. They’ve been spotted around here.” A slight frown creased Zion’s eyebrows. “But we need to move. It’ll take most of the day to get back.”

I drew the small animal closer to me. “What about the kitten?”

Zion stared me down. “What about it?”

Encouraged by its pure cuteness, I gave it a quick peck between its ears. “We can’t just leave it here.”

“He’s a wild animal, not a pet.” Zion unfastened the five buttons at the top of his gray, long-sleeved, cotton t-shirt, exposing a sliver of toned muscles.

How I wished his top had more buttons to unhook…

But now was not the time to debate whether I should ask him to take off his shirt so I could ogle him on our way home.

I petted the sweetest creature I’d ever held. “You think it’s a he?”

“I don’t know.” His lip corner twitched. “You can check him to be sure.”

I took a step back. “I’m not going to poke between his legs. What if he spooks?” If he disappeared into the forest, there was no way I’d find him again.

Zion’s grin widened. “If he survived me pounding into you, he’ll be fine with you examining its balls.”

“Then you do it.”

“Not when I can watch you try it.”

“Fine.” I didn’t need the stubborn asshole’s help. I could figure this out myself. How hard could it be? Either it had the minuscule balls or not.

Carefully, I maneuvered the kitten in hopes of rolling it onto its back. Yowling, it clawed at me, and I ceased any further attempts. “No, no, no! It’s okay, it’s okay,” I whispered, stroking his dark fur.

“You’re terrible at this,” Zion remarked.

I hissed, “Like you’re any better.”

Unhurriedly, he approached the cat and rubbed between his ears, behind them?—
