“She’s close,” I say.

“Good,” Cade spits.

We continue for about five more seconds, and because the two of us are the same person, with the same menacing mind, we pull away from her at exactly the same time. Just before she shatters.

We both step away from her writhing, heaving body.

Caden eases himself down off the counter, and I tuck my gun back into my trousers.

Elodie’s hands fly up to her face to hide the tears welling in her eyes, but we still see them.

“I fucking hate you both.” She sits up, face red, cheeks wet, fury in her eyes. She scrambles off the counter and grabs her coffee.

Caden grabs her wrist just before she walks away. “Just remember, princess, you can take something from me and I won’t lose an ounce of sleep. I don’t give a fuck. Remember this feeling the next time you want to steal something from me. How much shame and regret and humiliation is coursing through your veins right now. We don’t get embarrassed, but you? It’s eating you up right now. Knowing you were about to come all over my hand, even though you claim to hate me. I own your fucking body, Elodie, and I will prove it to you over and over until you learn that.”

She slaps him round the face. His head whips to the side, but he doesn’t react. He lets her go. My fingers twitch towards my gun, but my part in this is done. Unless Cade says otherwise. This is between a man and his fiancé.

She goes to storm off, and Cade calls her one last time. “Oh, by the way.” She halts by the door but doesn’t turn around.“Thank you for saving my life. We’re going to have a long, healthy, funlife together, princess.”

She pulls her shoulders back, a coldness settling over her features. She turns back into the kitchen, goes to the cupboard and snatches a packet of biscuits, throwing back a vicious middle finger before storming out the room.

I chuckle a breathless laugh. “Dude, you’re killing me here.”

Caden shrugs, coming back to slump on the stool. “She needs to learn.”

“Yeah, fair play, but my dick needs to be in something wet and warm before it explodes. You can’t be finger-fucking a bitch like that in front of me.”

He lifts his hand and inspects his fingers. “She got so wet, too.”

I know what he’s about to do, so I lunge across the table and grab his wrist.

“Fiz! You fucking weirdo!”

I can’t respond around his fingers in my mouth. God, she tastes so good.

He yanks his hand away and I’m left licking my lips, chasing the vestiges of her tangy pussy.

“These next four days are going to be fucking hell,” he says, laughing lightly as I wipe my chin.

“We just need to focus on getting you healed enough to smash The Hunt.”

He waves it off. “I’ll still catch her in this state. It’s nothing.”

Of course, he will, but he’s vulnerable now. The thought unnerves me.

He takes another gulp of the shake and grimaces again before fixing me with a hard glare. “Got a bit carried away there, didn’t you?”

I grin. “I can’t help it. She does things to me. Makes me feral.”

“Pfft, don’t I fucking know it. When I win this bet and keep her for real, I don’t know how I’ll stay sane.”

I take a deep breath in. I admire him, and he really is the strongest person I know, but I can’t help that little slither of doubt creeping around in my mind. What if he actually does lose, he wouldn’t let her go, and then that would just make her behaviour ten times worse, leading to our lives being fucking miserable. We can punish her as much as needed, but really, I think all three of us deep down just want her to comply. Imagine having Elodie Valor as a willing wife to Caden Blackwood, and a willing fuck for his henchmen? With her brains and grit and strength, she’d be the best addition to our fucked-up little family. Me and Alfie see it, but Caden doesn’t. Or he refuses to. We’d be a powerful force.

I’d never admit it to him, but if he gave her a real chance and let her settle in here, she might actually want to stay. I see the way she is with Alfie, all submissive and obedient. If she could be like that with all of us… The possibilities are endless. We could even worm our way out from under the masked man’s thumb. Pave our own way.

But it’ll never happen. Caden will never admit he likes her, and Elodie will never yield. So, the only thing we can do is hope Cade wins the bet, trap her here forever, and just take each torturous day as it comes.

My thoughts are broken with the front door bursting open.
