“Okay, give me a couple minutes to get changed and we can go.”

“This place is packed. What’s your plan?” Aiden asks. “Even with how much she’ll stand out in this crowd, it’s going to be almost impossible to find her.”

“She’s right up there,” I say, pointing to the second floor. I spotted her as soon as we walked in. Oddly enough, she was looking right at me.

“Dude, how did you know she was there?”

“I have no idea.” I shrug. “I just knew.”

I watch as some guy joins Becca at the table and she turns to face him. He looks like every other guy in here.

“OK, you’ve seen him. Ready to go?”

“I’ll be right back,” I say, waving Aiden off and heading for the stairs. “I need to get a closer look.”

I climb up to the second with my eyes on Becca the entire time. Fuck, she’s gorgeous. It’s no wonder her mom is pushing for her to find someone better than me. She is way out of my league.

I take my time going up the stairs, waiting to see what Becca will do, but as I walk, I can tell people are starting to notice me. The music in here is too loud to hear conversations, but I can hear my name and Sleeping Dogs both mentioned as I walk by small groups of people on the wide staircase.

Shit. I didn’t do anything to avoid being recognized and even though our fans are usually respectful, I can already see people getting their phones out, ready to snap my picture. This club isn’t the kind of place that plays Sleeping Dogs music, so I didn’t even consider that anyone would care about me here. Whatever I’m going to say to Becca, it’s going to have to be quick, because I’m about to be mobbed with requests for selfies from people who aren’t even fans of our music.

I reach the top of the stairs and reach Becca’s table in a few long strides.

“Holy shit,” the guy she’s with says when he sees me. “You’re Johnny Donovan. Can I get a pic with you? Rebecca, take our picture.”

I ignore him and reach for Becca, pulling her against me.

“Wha—”

I cut off her question with a kiss, and relief floods my body when she kisses me back.

“I’m so sorry,” I tell her. “I have more to tell you, but we need to get out of here. Did you drive?”

She nods, kisses me one more time, and laces her fingers with mine. “Let’s go.”

Fuck, I love this woman.

“Hey! What about my picture?” her date yells after us as we hurry to the stairs, running down the stairs and out the door before anyone tries to stop us.

I guess I’m leaving Aiden here alone, but he’ll figure it out. I’m sure he left as soon as I saw Becca, anyway. He probably knew exactly what was going to happen before we left his house, even before I did.
