Denise - That’s My Forever Penis

Ryder is dressed nicer than I’ve seen in a long time, with his dark jeans and white button-down shirt. Truthfully, I’m having a hard time concentrating on what I’m saying because all I can think about is ripping that shirt right off of him so I can see the nipple rings that are poking through the fabric. He took out the barbells he had in his eyebrow, but I’m happy to see that the lip ring and nipple rings are still in their rightful place.

“Denise, I’ve only ever pretended tonothave feelings for you. My feelings for you are very real. In fact…”

Wait, what’s happening right now? Pay attention, Denise. This feels important. I watch as Ryder slides the coffee table over and kneels on the floor in front of me.

“The first time I saw you, I knew I wanted you. I was young and dumb, of course, and we hadn’t even spoken, but something about your confidence as you walked around that party called to me. It didn’t hurt that you have always been the hottest woman in the room, no matter where you are.” Ryder laughs a little. “I really thought I was going to take you home that night. Did you know that?”

“I had an idea. You were pretty much devouring me with your eyes the whole night.” He looked great then, too. And I wanted to go home with him. But I wanted to manage the band more, so that was my priority.

“When you told us you were going to be our manager, I figured I should step back. After all, I couldn’t very well have a one-night stand with you if you were going to be around all the time afterward.”

He takes my hands in his, bringing them up and brushing his lips against them softly.

“You have no idea how difficult those first few years were for me. Once I got to know you, I wanted you even more. You’re the strongest, smartest, and most amazing woman I’ve ever known. But if you tell Gran that, I’m afraid I’ll have to deny it.”

I giggle. “Yeah, I’d say Gran is quite a bit stronger and smarter than me. And a hell of a lot more devious too.”

Ryder laughs. “She is absolutely more devious. The Jell-O balloons weren’t the worst thing she’s ever done to me. And she’s gotten so much worse since she moved in at Peaceful Pines. That Gladys is a bad influence.”

“And a bit of a perv, too. I thought I was going to have to fight her, the way she kept angling to get a look at what’s mine.” I laugh, and then it hits me. I’ve just said that Ryder’s dick is mine. Maybe he didn’t notice?

He looks at me with a smirk and raises an eyebrow. He noticed alright.

“Never mind. Please continue.” I gesture for him to move on.

“We’re going to revisit that,” he says. “But back to what I was saying first. I’ve wanted you all this time, for all these years. The first while I was an idiot, and tried to get you out of my head the way an idiot would. Then for years after that I just kept up the act because it was easier to do that than to face the thought that you could never want me back.”

Ryder looks down and takes a deep breath. “But then you said that you had wanted me for some of that time too, and I began to hope. I started to think that maybe we could be together after all.”

He pulls up one leg so that he’s down on one knee. Oh shit!

“Denise, I want to be with you. Today, tomorrow, and for the rest of our lives. I want to be the man you turn to when you need help, and the one who makes you laugh when you’re sad. I want to be the one who cheers the loudest when you are successful, and the one who stands back and says ‘that’s my girl’ to everyone when you do something amazing. And I want to be the father to your children.” He stops and puts a hand on my belly. “This one, and any we may have in the future. Wherever you are is where I want to be. Because I love you. I’ve always loved you, and I always will love you.”

He pulls a small box from his pocket, opening it and holding it out to me. Inside is the most beautiful ring. It’s black, with a multicoloured stone being held up in the centre by tiny, anatomically correct, black hearts. It’s the most ‘me’ piece of jewellery I’ve ever seen.

“Please say you’ll be my wife. Denise, will you marry me?”

I just stare at him blankly, switching between looking into his eyes and looking at that gorgeous ring. This is not the reaction I was expecting from Ryder when I told him about the lawyer’s good news. I figured he’d breathe a sigh of relief and run off somewhere, jumping for joy that he didn’t have to take responsibility for me. But he’s just sat here and told me he loves me, has always loved me, and he wants to marry me? Not just that he wants to marry me, but he also wants to be a father to my children. Not just this baby that I’m currently having, but with any kidswemight have in the future.

Together. Our babies. The babies that I will make with him.

“Uh, Denise?” He asks.

Shit, how long have I been lost in thought.

“YES!” I yell before tackling him to the ground and smothering him with a kiss.

“You will? You’ll marry me?” Ryder doesn’t wait for my answer before sealing his mouth to mine, his tongue stroking gently against my own. I nod my head as he fists my hair in his hand and forces us back to a sitting position, with me straddling him.

He breaks the kiss and leans back, taking the ring out and throwing the box behind him. I give him my left hand, and he slides the ring on before pulling me in for a kiss again.

I feel him getting hard beneath me, so I say the only thing that makes sense to my addled brain.

“So this dick is actually mine now? Forever?”
