I adjust our positions and plant Ava on all fours in front of me. As I spear into her, she screams in both surprise and pleasure. I hammer into her sweet pussy, grabbing her hair in my fist so I can see her face.
“Oh my God,” she moans, pushing her butt back to meet me thrust for thrust. The angle feels even deeper than before, and we both sigh at the contact. “I’m there. Come with me.”
We fall off the edge into oblivion together, and the sensation is too much to handle. It feels like I black out for a moment, and I collapse on top of her. Holding most of my weight off to the side, I kiss her neck and spine. I lick some of the sweat along her neck, and she shivers.
“Every part of you is delicious.” I sweep my lips against the sensitive area behind her ear. “That was incredible,” I marvel and fall onto the mattress beside her.
Ava flips onto her side and cuddles closer to me so we’re face to face. I dislike the sensation of leaving her, soI thrust back into her tight channel and grip her ass to hold her to me. She lets out a soft moan but doesn’t complain. She traces my features and works her way down to the scars that litter my chest. I choke and grab her hand to stop her. The movement sparking bad memories.
“Should I stop?” Ava whispers.
I kiss her fingertip and sigh. “I’m sorry. We just had sex, and yet a simple touch transported me back there. It’s pathetic.” I bury my face in the pillow. I can’t bear to see her response.
Soft hair tickles my neck as Ava seems to burrow even closer than before.
“Look at me,” she croons. I shake my head like a child, and she repeats herself. “Look at me, baby.”
The endearment shocks me into turning my head and I see nothing but love in her eyes. “I adore every piece of you. Never put down your trauma and the experience that shaped you into who you are now. You didn’t ask for it and yet came out even stronger than before. Not everyone can do that.” I hug her to me, and she slides a leg between mine, pushing me deeper inside. After a few beats of silence she speaks again. “We’re going to need to do that a few more times, like right now.”
I chuckle. “Insatiable.”
But if my girl wants another round, then that’s exactly what I’m going to give her.
CHAPTER 31
AVA
I nearly hobbledinto the station today after the sexual gymnastics Valen put me through. After our first time on the bed last night, we ended up in the shower for round two. Then we moved to the living room and christened most surfaces out there. Valen was relentless. Not that I was any better. I rode him six ways to Sunday and now my lady bits ache in the best way possible.
He might’ve been a virgin, but he’s a quick learner and he’s eager to please.
Once the dam broke, neither of us could stop the flood of emotion that came bursting in from behind it. Neither of us has said theL-word, but I think we’re dangerously toeing the line.
There were times last night where he would lose himself in memories, and when it happened, I made sure to stop and talk him through it. Each time he gave me a sheepish smile, but I never want to downplay his mental health. I’m just happy he’s making so much progress.
Valen sent me off to work this morning with a toe-curling kiss that had me nearly begging him to have his way with me. Thankfully, he had enough restraint for both of us and headed to the library after dropping me off.
The surprise he had been planning the other day is apparently now taking place tonight.
With a cheesy grin on my face, I turn back to my computer and go about my daily tasks. The hustle and bustle of the station has mostly gone back to normal after the shock of Detective Waters’ passing. No concrete DNA was found to tie back to the culprit, which is concerning.
“Ava,” Captain Barnes calls from his office.
Jumping up, I poke my head in his door, pink hair swishing around my shoulder as I go.
“You rang?” I tease in a light tone. Lately, I haven’t been feeling my normal bubbly self, but I’m trying to work on it.
“Would you mind making copies for me?” He holds out a few papers and holds a phone away from his ear. “I meant to do it before this call and completely forgot.”
“You got it, boss,” I reply and snag it from him.
Lightly jogging to the copy room, I set about doing just that. I cross my arms and tap my boot on the ground as I wait. Rain pours outside. I’m glad we didn’t have to drive through it this morning on the way in. I’m seriously getting sick of the gloomy weather that Chicago can’t seem to shake.
I notice a piece of lint on my pants and pick it off. Plopping it in the trash can, I spot an open folder on the table. It’s labeled with today’s date, and a gory picture of a pile of bodies lies on top of the stack of papers.
“What the fuck?” I mumble to myself.
Who the hell just leaves crime scene photos lying around? That’s a write-up for sure.
