“So bossy, isn’t she?” He tries to side with Finn.

“No, it’s her charm.” Finn answers back, flipping through the pages in his book.Smartass.

Keola marches down the hall, straight to the bathroom, I close the door before I say, “You want to tell me the name of this wall?” walking him back to sit, then prepping the towel to clean the dried up spots.

He winches at the first touch, possibly the adrenaline has drained and left with nothing but the aching pain.Wait.

“Wait, did you ride here?” I grip his chin.

His devilish, addictive grin appears. “Would you be upset if I did?” he chuckles.

He’s hurt and he makes an irrational decision to ride here! My fist clenched the towel, preventing me from smacking him.

“You stupid, stupid man. Why! The cold could have killed ya, and you’re already injured, did someone check for a head injury?” I start to berate him.

Keola’s hands softly glide up my thighs, his hands then squeezing my hips inching me closer to him. “Which question do you want me to answer first? Who landed a few hits? Or why did I come here?” He squirms trying to avoid the cloth with the alcohol on it.

I let loose of his chin, tempted to land a few hits of my own.

“The latter, and if you don’t stop squirming, I’ll pin you down.” I didn’t think before I said anything. I close my eyes seeing the words play out over again.

He bites down on his lower lip, the temptation in his eyes. “Oh shut up and just answer my questions,” I say, regretting the word choice.

As I wipe the dry blood, his eyes soften as his grip on me does. There’s a brief moment of silence, the only sound is his deep exhale. He relaxes, his muscles less tense, more open.

“We ran into trouble at the shipyard,” he starts, starting to avoid my eye contact with him, “After the container was taken, Memphis and I stayed back until we knew they were far enough out that trouble wasn’t going to follow.” He winced and hissed as I put some pressure on his wound on his head. He releases a low growl.

“Oh stop it, you’re worse than Finn. Growl at me again, and I’ll muzzle you,” I won’t lie, the tables would be fun to turn.

“Then you wouldn’t hear the answers to your questions,” he remarks. I stay silent, waiting for him to continue, he sighs, “We got ambushed, a couple of their members tried to prove a point. They landed a few hits and we hit the ground a couple of times. In the end, we were able to get back to the compound.”

I finished his face and moved on to checking… the rest of his body. My cheeks blush at the thought, but I’m not taking chances with him. “Shirt. Off.”

His devious smile, “Angel, if you wanted me naked, we could go somewhere else,” he says standing up stripping away the barrier of his shirt. His hard, rippling muscles make my mouth go dry, and yet a whimper escapes. A flood of desires goes straight to a throbbing heat.

You’re playing nurse, not roleplaying.

My hand caressing, rubbing my chest. In the middle of a winter weather storm, I’m radiating heat like a sauna. He doesn’t help either, his warmth pressing closer to my skin. His eyes darken with thoughts.

“Um. Just stay. I need to check on your bruising,” I say softly. I bend over a little, taking a look on his sides, the bruises have begun to knot. The slightest of touch makes his muscles contract. A piece of my heart starts to crumble.

His body taking the hits, him fighting for his life, I can’t wrap my mind around it.

I look on the other side, which is not any better.

“Damn, honey,” I sigh, his hand caresses my head, brushing through my hair.

“I promise, I’m fine.” He tries to reassure me.

Standing back in front, I push him back down to sit.

“You didn’t answer me, what did you stupidly ride in this weather?” I jerk his head back down to apply ointment and bandage. He softly drags his hands to up my legs, sending shivers down my spine. He’s a flirtatious distraction. I close my legs tight, not wanting to pursue his distracting ways. He’s avoiding his answer. “Answer me, and I’ll let you play.” Like a damn kid, he smiles.

“Would you still let me if I said I wanted to see you and I’d have come sooner?” He answers. My body freezes. All my thoughts of this is one time thing, he doesn’t want me, I’m just a player in the game, it all goes out the window. I tilt his head up as he wraps his arms around my hips, his head resting on my mid stomach.

“Why?”

“Because I’m addicted to an angel who has found her way into my thoughts, my dreams, and even the very dark soul. Someone who makes me want to move every mountain to make sure she remains mine. And after everything today, all I wanted was to come see you and even be terrorized by your hellion nephew.” he admits.
