“What the fuck was that?” Keola bellows out.

“That was me, taking into account my nephew and him having a support system. I’m planning for what needs to happen.” I lean back in my chair, beaming with pride.

“And what exactly needs to happen?” He crosses his arms.

“You’re going to help me.” I point at him, if he is holding back information, if he knows something, he’ll have no choice but to tell me in a matter of time.

Chapter 18

Keola

Thiswomanisoutof her damn mind.

She’s cooking up a plan and pulling me into it.

“I’m sorry, you want me to do what?” I question her.

Rawlings and Jackson are not going to like the sound of this. Another person trying to bite off more than they can handle. I give her credit, her heart is in the right place but her mind is telling her that this is going to be easy.

Tessa nor I want to get her further involved with the Falcons. She doesn’t need that danger in her life. The more we can handle this situation the better.

“You’re going to help me find Cedric.” The smartass look on her face like she’s going to get her way.

“And how are we going to do that exactly?” Sounds like she has her plan all together.

“Awe, Mr. Grumpy pants is back. Wipe that look off your face,” she’s pushing my patience and my limits. “We’re going to stake out his house, if they were looking for something, they may come back for a second look. If we have to, we’ll trace his steps and investigate. You used to be a cop, you should have some idea.” She explains.

Something pains me as I start to think about being on the force. I left that life for a reason. My face hardens, “You aren’t going anywhere.”

“You aren’t the boss. You don’t control me,” she remarks. “Stop fighting me on this. This is a better option.”

“What the hell was the other option?” I ask her.

“I go alone.”

“The fuck you are.” I yell.

“See!” she chuckles, “This is the best option. You come with me. We figure this out and bring him home, wherever he is." She gets up and starts to pack up her bag.

“Bad idea. You aren’t going to risk your neck for someone who may have gotten himself into his own situation.” I attempt to reason with her.

She drops her bag, “You don’t know him like I do. Cedric has worked too damn hard and he doesn’t just up and leave.” She’s fighting tooth and nail, her passion and dedication might get her killed in the end. She walks towards me, the passion and fury in her eyes are enough to back down any man. It’s going to be her way or the highway.

“Charlotte, I’m not going to let you just go,” I need to put my foot down. I puff out my chest.

“Frankly, I wasn’t asking for your permission,” she smarts off.

“Then what are you asking?” Having her inches away from me, close enough where I can distract her if need be. Honestly, there are many ideas I wouldn’t mind trying.

“I am asking for protection. If you won’t do anything, then I will do everything, you can watch my back.”

“I'd rather have youonyour back.” I’m not lying.

Her cheeks start to light up pink. Her shoulders start to bunch up. She can be as fiery and feisty, but she still blushes when all those naughty thoughts start to circle.

She starts to stutter, “Um. Well. Yes. We know what youuu.. Wantt.” She clears her throat, “What is it going to take for you to come along?”

She wants to bargain. I’m already itching to get more than just that dripping wet pussy I know she’s trying to hide.
