I cross my legs and lean forward, “We had a volunteer group back out for tomorrow. And I was wondering…”

“If I had a group to help?”

“And possibly in costume?” I spread a Cheshire cat smile.

There is a wicked gleam in her eyes, and the wheels turning in her head. She gently nods her head, “Hold please.”

She reaches for her phone and dials, placing it on speaker. When a deep rumbling voice comes on the phone. “Darlin’,”One word can cause many goosebumps to prickle my flesh. Damn, I vaguely remember what he looks like, I thought I had seen a giant man one day.

“Alexander..” She whines out, pouting her lip. Oh, I see who wears the pants in the relationship. I sit back and watch the show.

“Is someone wanting something or..” he snickers. The flirtatiousness in his voice.

“Alexander, you are on speaker phone, behave.”

“No promises, little cub.”

She rolls her eyes. “I need a favor.”

“And if I say no.”

“Oh, sweets, do you really think you can say no to me?”

This woman has this man wrapped around her finger.

“What can I do for you?”

“I need the club to help out at a community event tomorrow and before you say anything I know it’s last minute, but Lottie had a group back out and I thought...”

“You and her thought the club could help out.” She glances back at me.

“Well she didn’t say specifically the club, that was my idea.” She retorts back.

“So you thought you could convince me to get the club to help out.” he says, I can imagine the charming grin through the phone.

The pure smirk on her face tells me this woman is more than what she appears in her daily life. I applaud her. “Mm, someone gets a cookie for that.” She pauses for a moment, realizing what she had said, “Alexander shut up I realize what I said.”

He chuckles through the phone. I vaguely remember him, but something in me can only imagine them together, like a queen and king. More like the king kneeling on his knees for his queen, protecting her at all costs.

“How many do you need?” He asks, I hold up nine fingers. “Nine.”

“I think we can do that.”

“Oh and costumes are required. And no, you can’t go as a biker.”

“I mean I could be the big bad wolf.”

“I’m hangin’ up before you embarrass me at work,mo chroi,”

“I’ll see you at home.” he clicks off on his end. There is an airiness in her smile, like a soft admiration in her body language. The giddiness in her smile.

“Done.” She leans back in her chair. “I hope you are prepared for them though.”

“Boss, how much do I need to be prepared for what is to come? ” I gesture.

“Lottie, you have nothing to worry about. But something tells me there might be one or two that could give you a run for your money.”

Bring it on. As long as none of them flirt with me.
