I gave Elias another chance to be the person I had thought he was, until he proved otherwise.

“It’s okay.” Keola senses my thoughts and heart racing.

“I don’t want to think about my father, I want to enjoy my Christmas with you.” I plant kisses on his chest, distracting him from trying to get into my mind.

Keola takes my hint and eases my mind until everything is numb and beautiful.

Well until hours later when I hear my nephew burst through the door with utter excitement and I scramble to find my discarded clothes somewhere. Right next to them is the vibrator. Keola snatches it out of my hands, with a wicked smile, whispering in my ear, “Don’t forget to charge this,” he smacks my ass before exiting my bedroom.

Chapter 34

Lottie

Aweekhasgoneby and the new year is approaching, and with it, no word on Cedric. I grow weary, fearing the worst thing has happened.

It’s no longer a rescue, but a recovery.

I haven’t seen much of Keola since Christmas, business has taken him away, but watchful eyes have never left. Keola promised protection, and it was granted as prospects.

Hard to believe I’m falling for the man that showed me I deserved someone, someone who would care for me, love me, and be there for my nephew, but help keep his innocence. There’s still too much blood on everyone’s hand.

Even though it hasn’t been long since Christmas, I miss him, even though we’ll see him tonight. The club’s hosting a new years party and with everyone under the same roof for the night, it’s going to be easier for protection. Plus, it’ll give Finn a chance to interact with the people who're watching over us and even make new friends.

I told him to pack just in case he crashes early, which is most likely. I was preparing for my own kind of night. It’s hard to believe that I’m addicted to a man that knows everything about me, well almost everything about me.

But one thing he doesn’t know, I have a surprise for him in the morning. The very thought of it makes me smile. The feeling of being in his arms, his whispers of lustful promises that still shocks me, I can’t wait any longer.

I’ve turned into a horny teenager.

“You have the dumb look on your face,” Finn laughs, interrupting my daydream.

I fluff a makeup brush on his nose. “Whatcha mean?”

“Well, it’s the one where you are lost in your mind, thinking about someone,” the little brat.

“You’ve been listening to your great aunt too much.”

“And that’s a problem, how?” Maybe he is too much like me.

I shake my head, “Stuff packed?”

He nods his head, sauntering back to the living room as I finish getting ready. We both need the distraction. Between his grandfather showing his true colors and Cedric gone, we needed one night where we forgot everything.

My phone dings and a smile spreads.

Keola:Hurry up woman. I have waited long enough, need you now.

I send a message back and hurry along. I should make him wait a little longer, the thought of pushing his buttons one more time.

I call Finn to get moving and before long we’re at the clubhouse.

Before Finn heads out the door, I stop him.

“Remember what I said.”

He sighs, “Remember the rules of the club. If someone you don’t know gives you a hard time I know who to run to. Don’t break anything. Don’t drink from anything else but your cup.” He repeats the rules that Keola and I set for him.

My heart drops. Keola and I. Helping with my nephew.
