“Yeah?”

“Yeah.” He says it like it’s a challenge—like he’s daring me to act on this suggestion.

So, I do.

“Let’s get out of here.”

Chapter 27

Felix

Ohhh, Torren got jealous, and I’m not one bit mad about it.

The sound of the garage door closing fills the silence between us once we’re back in Torren’s shop.I hop off his bike and place the helmet and his coat on pegs on the wall.

Torren stays on his bike, his helmet still on, breathing with a force that makes his whole body rise and fall.

I saunter over to the car parked in his shop and drape myself over the hood. “So, are we going to discuss this amazing benefits package you mentioned after you told that guy I was taken?”

His helmet-clad head turns toward. Torren flips up his visor and says, “Jesus Fucking Christ.”

“You won’t find him here tonight, myfriend.”

His eyes narrow, a devious look washing over him. Torren pulls off the helmet and approaches the car. He looks at me like I’m a sirloin steak and he’s ready to feast. A hand lands on my thigh, and he slides it up, dipping his fingers beneath the shorts.

“Just friends.” He almost can’t get thewords out.

“Just friends,” I repeat, smiling.

“With benefits,” he adds.

“Can’t forget that part,” I reply with a devilish smile.

His forehead presses against mine, both arms wrapping me in a lovely embrace. “Felix, I’m nervous. I just get so… It’s like I…”

I shush him and give him a little kiss. “I know. We can work through it, together.”

Torren shakes his head with a defeated expression. He’s about to protest, but then he pauses. His eyes widen, and his gaze trails to his bedroom door.

“I have an idea.”

Torren

This has to work.

I just hope the headboard is strong enough.

With Felix’s hand in mine, I hurry us to my bedroom and flip on the light. I look through the drawers of my dresser, trying to find what I need.

Nothing.

I pause, closing my eyes and thinking about the last time I used them.

Aha!

I pull a plastic container from beneath the bed. A glance at the wrought iron bedframe has me thanking my lucky stars.

The lid comes off, and I find what I need: two pairs of handcuffs.
