“Am I hurting your knee?”
“No. And even if you were, I wouldn’t let you move.” He skimmed his nose along the side of my face. “The prettiest girl in the world is on my lap, and all the alphas in this room are fucking dying of jealousy.”
“You’re ridiculous.” I ran my fingers through his hair, tugging his head back enough for him to meet my gaze. “And the sweetest man I’ve ever met. I’ve been obsessed with you from the beginning. Every day with you is brighter. And just so you know”—I leaned in until our lips were almost touching—“you’re one of the sexiest, hottest, most attractive men I’ve ever met. I’ve never cared about designation. All I’ve ever wanted is someone who makes me feel safe and seen and…” I stopped myself just in time before I said it—loved. I cleared my throat. “That’s how you make me feel, Leo. And I hope that’s how I make you feel, too.”
“You do, joonam. Always.” His words brushed against my lips. “I love you, Lucy. I think I have for months.”
My breath hitched and then I was kissing him. He loved me.Leo loved me.
His lips were perfect against mine, soft but commanding as he gripped my jaw. A loud cheer broke out in the room. We broke apart to see all the firefighters standing and cheering for us.
“Huh,” I said, turning back to Leo. “I kind of forgot where we were.”
“I didn’t,” he snorted. “But you were the one who crawled under a table to get to me, so who am I to complain?”
I grinned. “It must be because I love you, too.”
His lips parted. “Say that again.”
“I love you.”
“How did I get so fucking lucky?” he murmured. “Let’s get out of here.”
I nodded my head at King and Wilder, who were striding toward us. “I think we’re all on the same wavelength.”
“Time to go,” Wilder grunted. He carefully lifted me off Leo’s lap and into his arms.
I patted his chest. “This feels familiar. At least we’re not about to be swept off the mountain.”
He scowled. “You are never doing that again.”
“You two put on quite a show,” King said. He pulled Leo up from his seat, his hand lingering even once Leo was standing.
I hummed. “If we all go back to my place now, we can put on a whole other show.”
Their scents exploded. Wilder took off toward the door to more cheers from the firefighters.
“Betting pool ends today, boys!” I shouted right before the door shut behind us.

Lucy
This was happening. It wasreally happening. All four of us were in the golf cart, heading back to my place.
My stomach fluttered with butterflies. This was everything I’d wanted, what I’d dreamed about since I was little. You’ve thought that before, the anxious voice in the back of my mind whispered, but it was easy to brush aside.
My exes had never made me feel like this. Besides, I wasn’t the same girl I’d been when I met them. For all the havoc they’d wreaked in my life, they had changed me in some positive ways. I now knew what I deserved and what I wouldn’t tolerate. Leo, King, and Wilder had proven themselves over the past two weeks. They hadn’t been irritated when I’d pushed them away, and they hadn’t treated winning me back like some sort of ego-boosting conquest. It felt genuine, like they actually just wanted me.
None of us was perfect, but our relationship wasreal.
I took a deep breath and Leo tightened his grip on my thigh.
“You doing okay, azizam?”
He was driving much faster than he had on the way to the event, which made me smile. I skimmed my fingers along his arm. “I’m great. That is,ifwe survive the ride back. I think we might be going a whole eight miles an hour. You must be in a hurry for some reason.”
King leaned forward, resting his arms on the back of my seat. “He was our getaway driver for our golf cart heist, and I’m pretty sure a snail could have caught us.”
