Liam stiffened against me at hearing Gray speak, and my stomach clenched. I didn’t want there to be tension within our…pack.

My pack. The words were almost incomprehensible.Temporarypack, I reminded myself.

“We need to go shopping for our omega before we go,” Gray said. He joined our group, looking cautious. I held out my hand and he took it gratefully.

“I don’t need anything,” I protested.

The guys ignored me.

“We can use my SUV for the road trip,” Henry said. “And my parents have a guesthouse we can stay in, or we can rent something else if that’s not comfortable. We’ll also probably need some sort of trailer for our luggage.”

“I’ve got one at the shop,” Bear said. “It’s for transporting bikes, but it would have plenty of room for my bike and luggage.”

“How quickly can you set up a doctor’s appointment?” Liam asked Henry. “I want to vet whatever doctors she sees.”

“I’ll make sure we get one right away. Maybe a week from now? That would give us enough time to get there.”

“Umm, this is moving really fast,” I said.

“Come here,” Bear said, picking me up again.

“Is this going to be a regular occurrence?” I ran my nose down his neck.

“Me carrying you? Yes,” he said with a smirk as he walked into Gray’s bedroom.

“I don’t understand what’s happening.”

“What’s happening is we’re going to take care of you,” he said.

“But what if you change your mind?” I whispered.

“It’s not going to happen.” He put me down on my makeshift nest. The room smelled like sex and my alphas, and my core heated with arousal.

“But what if it does?” I pushed back.

Bear kneeled in front of me. “What if you change your mind about me? Or about any of us? That’s a risk we all have to take, but you’re worth it.”

I sniffed, blinking quickly to keep my tears from falling. “I never cry,” I said, jutting out my chin. “You all have done this to me.”

Bear chuckled, giving me a soft kiss on the lips. “We’re tough alphas, which means we’ll absolutely lose our shit anytime you cry and do anything we can to stop it.”

I rolled my eyes, and he just pressed a kiss to each eyelid. He went to stand up and then hesitated.

“Was I too rough with you?” he asked, sounding uncharacteristically unsure.

“What do you mean?”

“During your heat. I didn’t know about your health stuff.”

An uncomfortable feeling squirmed in my stomach. I wasn’t used to peopleknowing, and it made me feel exposed.

“No, you weren’t.”

“Are you sure?” He ran his hands up my thighs, giving them a squeeze. “I never want to do anything to make it worse for you.”

“I’m sure.” I met his gaze. “I’m not weak.” There was some heat in my voice.

“Well, that wasn’t even a question,” he said calmly. “I know you’re not.”
