“You omegas think you have power. Do you feel powerful now?” the alpha taunted as he tugged on my pants. The buttonholding my jeans together snapped off and he dragged my pants down my ass.

I tried to drag myself out from underneath him, but he was too strong. I screamed at the top of my lungs, the sound louder than anything I’d ever made.

The alpha gripped my hair and wrenched my head back.

“Be quiet, bitch. My orders are to keep you alive. Don’t make me second guess that.”

A low whine left my lips involuntarily and the alpha chuckled before pressing my face back down to the ground and grabbing my ass.

“I heard you were a slut, but I wonder if anyone’s had your ass.”

Just then, the back door slammed open.

“Westin?” Josie called.

I let out a strangled cry. Then the alpha’s lips were at my ear. “If you scream, I’ll rape her, too.”

I froze. I couldn’t let anything happen to Josie.

“Westin, are you out there? This is freaking me out.”

I silently begged Josie to get Theo.

The door shut again.

“Guess your friend doesn’t care that much about you,” he said. “Now, let’s get on with this.”

He pulled my underwear down. I threw my head back to hit his face, but he must have moved. I kicked and bit and fought, but nothing I did made a difference.

My mind started to float away from my body. It wasn’t my body he was touching. It must belong to someone else. I kept my eyes fixed on the alley entrance, and for a second, I thought I saw two large figures silhouetted against the streetlight.

The bakery door slammed open again, and a beam of light illuminated the alleyway.

“Where could she have gone?”

The voice belonged to Theo. I wasn’t alone.

I let out another scream, barely feeling the force of the alpha’s hit to the side of my face.

“Fuck, fuck. Get off of her!” Theo’s shout mixed with Josie’s scream.

The next few moments were a blur of noise and movement. The weight on top of me lifted. I stayed on the ground, my face pressed into the pavement.

“Westin, oh my god. Let’s get you inside. Can you move? Fuck, maybe we shouldn’t move you until the ambulance comes.” Josie’s words floated to me as if they were coming from a long distance.

“I’m going to pull your pants up, okay?” she asked gently. I managed a nod, lifting my hips to help her.

I pushed myself up to a seated position, every bone in my body screaming in pain.

Josie’s face appeared in front of me. Tears were running down her cheeks.

My face was dry, all my emotions stuck inside me.

I didn’t understand what had happened. Where had the alpha come from? What did he mean that this was a job? And where had he gone?

Sirens sounded in the distance and I looked around the dim alleyway. Theo’s flashlight had fallen to the ground, illuminating his form on top of my attacker.

I tried to focus on the feel of Josie’s hand running through my hair.
