Just then, the roof door opened. Henry quickly pulled my underwear and sweatpants back on. I whirled around, convinced some hospital administrator was here to bust us, but then breathed a sigh of relief when I saw it was Liam and Gray.

“We can’t leave you alone for five minutes,” Gray said with a grin, sitting down next to Bear.

“You were gone for way more than five minutes,” I said.

Gray gripped my chin, kissing me softly. “Did you miss us, princess?”

“Yes.” I softened against his kiss.

“Sorry, pretty girl.” Liam joined us on the ground. “I think you’ll be pleased with what we were doing.”

“Are you going to tell me?” I raised my eyebrows.

“Not yet,” Gray said. “It’s a surprise.”

My lip jutted out in a pout. “You should know by now that us omegas aren’t the most patient.”

“Oh, we know.” Liam grinned. “But I think this particular surprise is worth experiencing your wrath.”

I sniffed. “Alright, I’ll try to suspend my wrath for now.”

One more day of chemo tomorrow, and then, hopefully, this entire nightmare would be over.

WESTIN

CHEMO DAY 20

My guys wanted me to ring the bell after my last infusion, signaling that I was done with chemo, but I didn’t feel like celebrating. I didn’t want to ring the bell because there was a chance I wasn’t done. My guys were perpetually hopeful, telling me all the amazing things we would do once chemo was over. They talked about traveling and moving in together, but my entire future felt like it had been swallowed up by a giant black hole.

I’d felt hopeful at the beginning of this process, but four weeks of chemo had slowly and methodically destroyed every shred of it.

I rang the bell to make them happy, pasting a smile on my face. Now, there was a two-week wait until I got my follow-up MRI. I would only allow myself to be truly happy when I got the news that the tumor was gone.

“I’ll see you tomorrow, Westin,” Anne said as we got ready to leave her house. Bear, Henry, and I had breakfast with her and George. Liam and Gray were off running some mysterious errand.

“I’m looking forward to it,” I said. Anne had invited me to a spa day with her, Rose, and one of Rose’s friends. It had been two days since the end of chemo, and I was exhausted all the time. A day of relaxation and pampering was just what I needed.

Bear and Henry had their arms around me as we walked back to the guesthouse.

“When are Gray and Liam going to be back? And what are they doing?” I asked for the millionth time. I kept getting cagey answers and I was tired of it. I hadn’t been joking when I said omegas didn’t do well with being patient.

“They should be back now,” Henry said with a grin.

Sure enough, we opened the front door to find the two alphas standing side by side in the foyer, looking shifty.

“What’s going on?” I asked, slipping off my shoes. “Where were you this morning?”

Liam smiled. “You know that surprise we’ve been organizing? It has arrived.”

My omega perked up at the promise of presents.

“Well, what is it?”
