“Fuck that,” I said, taking a large gulp of my drink.
“I could have excused the one time,” Rose continued. “But then last night it fucking happenedagain.”
“What?” I gasped.
“You omegas have the right idea when it comes to having a pack so when one of them disappoints you, you have another one to sub in.”
My lips quirked at her description of pack life, although… she wasn’t wrong.
“Did you call him out on it?” I asked.
“Once he’s asleep, nothing will wake him. Someone could literally break into our room, guns blazing, and the man would have no idea, a real comfort that is. He left before I was up this morning, so I decided to send him a little video at work.”
“What was it?”
“Me, getting myself off, with a note that he wasn’t getting any until he made it up to me.”
“Damn, girl,” I said. “Has he watched it?”
“I assume so, since he’s called me about eight times.” Now Rose had a smug look on her face. “Too bad I’m not answering.”
“The margaritas are making a lot of sense,” I said.
“Yes. This is our un-celebration. Sorry about your tumor, by the way.”
The nonchalant way she said it, as if it was the same as not getting an orgasm, made my lips quirk into a smile. My guys had been treating me like I was made of glass since we heard the news, and while I didn’t mind being spoiled, it was nice to have someone treat me like I was normal.
I held up my glass. “To our un-celebration.”
“Should you be drinking this much?”Henry asked from his spot next to me on the couch. He eyed my third margarita too closely for my liking, and I clutched the drink possessively.
“Try and take it away and you’ll see what happens.” I stared him down. His pretty blue eyes met mine. They drew me in, hypnotizing me, and I forgot I was supposed to be mad. Instead, I leaned forward and kissed him, my lips sloppy against his.
“If that’s the punishment you’re doling out, count me in.” Bear stretched out on the couch opposite us.
I pulled away from Henry, keeping my eyes locked with his as I took an exaggerated drink. His lips curled into a smile.
“Alright, you win, darling.”
I grinned, feeling very satisfied with myself as I melted back into the sofa cushions. My chest felt full, my alcohol-induced relaxation making all my worries fade to the edges of my mind.
“Wow, you got uptight Henry to relax,” Rose said from her spot on the chaise lounge, her eyes wide. “I’ve never been able to do that.”
“The secret is having the proper leverage, like sex and blowjobs,” I said proudly.
“Eww!” Rose shouted, sloshing her drink on her jeans.
Henry’s cheeks were fiery red, but he said, “Serves you right for what I had to hear earlier.”
Rose just flipped him off.
Liam sat down beside me with a plate of chicken nachos with fajita veggies, all drenched in cheese. My mouth started to water.
“I’m not cutting off your margaritas,” he said. “But you are going to eat.”
Anne popped her head into the living room. “There’s plenty for everyone. I thought we could have Taco Tuesday for dinner. Well, nacho Tuesday, but that doesn’t have the same ring to it. If you want something different, Westin, you just let me know, honey.”
“No, this looks amazing,” I said, my heart aching again at how kind she was being.
