Agents Cannon and Clane looked so horrified at my crying that I almost burst out laughing. Even my alphas shifted closer to me, and Gray ran his hand down my back.

Henry looked furious. “If you don’t let us through so we can properly comfort our omega, I will be forced to file a Q7Q report of omega harm.”

“That won’t be necessary, right?” Cannon asked, his voice high-pitched as he turned to Clane.

“No, it appears everything is in order,” he said reluctantly.

“Oh, thank you,” I said, wiping my tears. “Thank you so much, alphas.”

Gray’s grip on my hand tightened, and I thought I felt a quick growl. I almost smiled at his possessiveness but curled into his side instead with an exaggerated sniffle.

“Are we good here?” Gray asked, his voice low. “We still have quite a way to drive, and it will take us a while to settle our omega after this stress. You know how they are.”

I pinched his side hard at his words and he jumped slightly.

“Yes, that’s fine. Please proceed,” Cannon said.

I grabbed Henry’s hand as we walked out. We were silent until we got back in the car. Henry opened the passenger door for me and I raised my eyebrow questioningly, as I usually sat in the back. He muttered, “I need you next to me.”

Once we were in the car with the doors closed, I burst out, “Holy shit, Henry. That was hot.”

Henry blushed as he rubbed his neck.

“How do you remember all those codes?” I asked.

“Umm…” he said, his cheeks turning a deeper red. “I might have made up those numbers.”

There was a brief silence, and then we all burst out laughing.

“Fuck, look at Henry, breaking the law,” Bear said.

“I wasn’t breaking the law,” Henry said, but he had a grin on his face.

Gray leaned forward from the middle seat and brushed his hand down my arm. “Are you alright, princess?”

“I’m fine.” I turned so I could see my three alphas crammed in the back.

Gray ran his hand down my cheek, not looking convinced.

“I was fake crying,” I said, biting my lip to stop myself from smiling. “It’s a great skill to have.”

“Fuck,” Liam said. “Felt real to me.”

I grinned.

“No, I see those wheels turning,” Bear said. “You’re not allowed to use that skill on us.”

“I would never,” I said, making Henry snort.

“And no calling other alphasalpha,” Gray said, crossing his arms as he sat back.

“I promise,” I said, serious this time. I reached back and squeezed Gray’s hand.

“Alright, first hurdle down,” Henry said. “Now we just have to go through the Sol entry checkpoint, but that should be much easier.”

We drove through a short stretch of road between the two provinces. Barbed wire fences stretched to the sky on either side of us, and the feeling of being trapped seized me again.

Henry took my hand, pulling it onto his lap. “Eventually, this will all be gone and we won’t have to go through Luna guards to leave,” he said. “Both governments have been slow in making changes.”
