“Everyone.” An omega growl rose in my chest.

Liam’s eyes widened. “Are you growling at me?”

“Yes,” I said with a scowl.

Loud laughter burst from his chest as a warm, bright roar. “You sound like a very cute kitten.”

My growl intensified, but it just made him laugh more. His arms tightened around me, holding me against his warm skin as my growl vibrated between us.

“My kitten.” He thrust his hips to meet mine. I whimpered, my fake anger forgotten as hot pleasure rocked through me.

“Liam,” I gasped, clinging to him.

“That’s it.” His fingers dug into my hip, sending little lightning bolts of pleasure through me. “You’re doing so well for me.”

“Oh my god,” I cried out. “Right there.” His knot seemed to grow even larger inside me. My eyes fluttered closed as my orgasm crashed over me.

Liam’s hand gripped my hair firmly. “Eyes on me when you come,” he growled.

I met his heated gaze, my lips parting as he came deep inside me.

“Fuck, fuck,” he gritted out. “You’re such a good girl. Can’t believe how fucking lucky I am.”

I collapsed onto his chest, all the tension seeping from my muscles. “You do that too well,” I groaned.

He patted my ass gently, seemingly at a loss for words. Once our breathing returned to normal, I ran my fingers through his hair. “So are you close to the rest of your family, besides Cillian?”

Liam chuckled, scrubbing his face. “That’s what you’re thinking about right now?”

I propped myself up on his chest. “I want to know everything about you.”

He traced his finger down the slope of my nose. “The feeling’s mutual.”

We gazed into each other’s eyes, the tenderness of the moment filling me up. He took a deep breath and tucked my face into the crook of his neck.

“Things with my family are… complicated,” he said. The sudden tension lining his body told me his words were an understatement. I kept quiet, not wanting to rush him.

“I have two sisters—one is a year younger than me and the other two years younger. They’re both betas. One got married a couple of years ago and the other lives with my mom. Cillian is her brother, but he lived in Ireland while I was growing up, so I only got to know him the past few years.”

When he didn’t say anything more, I asked, “And your dad?”

“He died.” His jaw clenched and I brushed my fingers along his face.

“I’m sorry,” I murmured.

“Don’t be,” he said, giving me a squeeze. “He was a fucking asshole. He was an alpha and my mom’s an omega. They met in high school, and he wanted her all to himself. He isolated her from her friends and family and convinced her she didn’t need a pack. Then he fucking drank his life away. He never lifted a finger to help her.”

I wrapped my arms around him. “That’s awful.” I hated imagining Liam as a child, growing up in a home like that.

“We scraped by for years. My father didn’t want my mom to work, but she would take cleaning jobs under the table so we could get food. It got better once I was a teen and could start earning money. We lived in a shit neighborhood. It was a recruiting ground for gangs, drugs, and underground fighting. Luckily, this guy recruited me for the fighting ring before the gangs got to me. My size helped keep my family safe.”

“That’s where you met Bear?” I asked.

He nodded. “I earned enough money to keep the lights on and food on the table, but I didn’t like fighting. I had to learn first aid to patch myself up and was pretty good at it. The other guys started asking me to sew up their cuts and shit after fights, which is what gave me the idea to become a medic. I worked on an ambulance for several years until I found a nursing program that would accept an alpha.”

“Some of them don’t?” I asked, furrowing my brow.

“Most of them don’t.” He stroked his hand down my back until it settled on my ass. I loved his possessive touch on me and couldn’t stop my smile.
