Except for my night with Liam, it had been years since I’d been in a hotel. My parents never had a lot of money, but one year, for my birthday, all I’d wanted was to spend the night in a hotel. We’d all dressed in our nicest outfits, and my dads pretended to be our chauffeur and butler. The hotel we’d gotten hadn’t been anything fancy, but it had a pool and we orderedroom service and watched home improvement shows on TV. It was my last birthday with them before they died.
“There’s four bedrooms,” Henry said, wrapping his arms around me and resting his chin on my head. “They didn’t have any bigger suites available.”
My heart sank a bit as I realized we wouldn’t all be sleeping together.Of coursewe wouldn’t be. The guys didn’t really know each other, and Gray and Liam still looked like they were pondering murdering the other, but my omega still deflated at the realization. We’d all shared the same bed, minus Gray, during my heat, but I shouldn’t have assumed it would continue on our trip.
“We’ll figure it out,” I said, trying to keep my voice breezy. “I’m going to get changed real quick.”
I pulled out of Henry’s arms and rolled my suitcase down the hallway. I picked a bedroom at random and collapsed down on the plush bed.
I would let myself be tired for just a few minutes and then I’d rally. I needed to get the guys more comfortable with each other. We’d eaten dinner at an Italian restaurant by the hotel and it had been awkward as fuck. My nausea had kicked up and the pasta I’d been craving no longer looked appetizing, but I didn’t want to add to the stressed vibes, so I’d done my best to push my food around to make it seem like I was eating.
My eyes drifted closed. For a moment, I imagined what it would be like for all of us to go to bed together. To fall asleep and wake up with them wrapped around me, keeping me safe from my nightmares. I forced my eyes open, shoving the dark memories aside. I needed to be fun Westin tonight. I could do that,be that, for them.
I quickly pulled on a pair of sweatpants and ditched my bra. I was going to wear one of my sweaters but found myself pulling Liam’s sweatshirt back on.
It was cozier anyway.
And smelled like caramel.
I left the bedroom, stopping at the end of the hallway to peer into the living room. The guys were sitting in complete silence.
God, this was worse than a funeral.
I chewed my lip, wondering what to do when my eyes fell on the bar cart in the corner of the room. It had an array of full-sized bottles of liquor. A smile spread across my face.
“I know what we need to do.” I clapped my hands as I skipped into the room, my party girl mask firmly fixed on my face.
Immediately, all their eyes were on me. It was a heady, powerful feeling to captivate their attention so fully.
I grabbed the tequila off the bar cart. “We’re going to playNever Have I Ever.”
“What’s that?” Gray asked with a frown.
“Oh, did they not have this game back in ancient times?” I deadpanned.
“Brat,” Gray said, snagging me around the waist and pulling me onto his lap.
“We take turns saying something we’ve never done. If you’ve done it, you take a drink,” I said.
“Sounds simple enough,” Gray said.
“So you’ll play?” I asked, looking around the room.
“If you want us to.” Gray rubbed the back of his neck.
“Not quite the endorsement I was hoping for,” I muttered. “But okay! Everyone move closer.” I sat on the floor by the coffee table. Bear eyed me with interest as he moved to the floor to join me, followed slowly by the rest of the guys.
“Who wants to start?” I asked, waving the tequila bottle before setting it in the center of the table.
There was a long pause. When none of the guys moved to say anything, I huffed.
“Maybe you need to teach us how to play,” Gray said.
“Fine. Never have I ever done anal,” I said.
Gray was in the midst of taking a sip of his water and he choked.
“Oh, so we’re playing like that,” Bear said, a gleam in his eye.
