‘You’re the only one of us with a reliable car, so that would be you,’ Finn replies.

‘Aw, man!’ Dan looks aghast at the thought. ‘I can’t go to a festival and not sink a few beers!’

‘I could ask my parents if I can borrow their car,’ I offer.

I don’t need to drink and I’d be happy to save some money.

‘Nice one,’ Dan says with relief.

Finn gives him a deadpan look as he and Amy head back inside.

I bend down to pick up the stack of cups. Finn takes them from me and puts them back down on the ground.

‘What? Why?’ I ask.

‘Because I’ve got a moment alone with Olivia Arterton and I’m taking it.’

He puts his hands on the railing on either side of me, enclosing me, and I’m surrounded by the warmth of him.

‘I had such a crush on you when we were at school,’ he confesses, suddenly serious.

‘Didyou?’ I whisper. ‘But we barely said two words to each other.’

‘Yeah, I wasn’t much of a talker back then.’

‘You weren’t, were you?’

He shrugs and the indents in his cheeks become less pronounced.

‘Oi, where did they go?’ I ask.

‘Where didwhatgo?’ He’s mystified.

‘Your dimples.’

He grins and the sight is blinding.

‘There they are,’ I breathe, reaching up to poke one.

He swipes my hand and brings it to his mouth, baring his teeth for a split second before nipping the tip of my finger.

I feel that biteeverywhere.

His pupils dilate. I stare at him in dazed silence.

‘I have to kiss you,’ he murmurs, his eyes drifting to my lips.

I nod my head in unequivocal agreement.

Shivers roll down my spine as he brings his hands to my face, cupping my jaw, his fingers sinking into the hair at the nape of my neck. I lean into him and press my palms flat against his chest, my pulse speeding up as our mouths meet for the first time. A bolt of electricity goes through me and we begin to move together in a torturously slow dance. His tongue slips between my lips and caresses mine and I feel dizzy with a rush that I have never experienced. Notever.

He tastes of cold sea air and iced cola and I want more.So much more.

He slowly draws away, leaving only inches between us.

‘I can’t believe I’ve kissed Olivia Arterton,’ he says in a low voice laced with amusement.

‘Ican’t believe I’ve kissed Danny Finnegan,’ I reply, sliding my hands down to his waist.
