Officer Truchaud:Mister Ben Shank and you attended the party in question, is that correct?
Marnie Redd:Yes. I mean, I attended the party and he…also attended the party.
Officer Truchaud:So you were both there?
Marnie Redd:We were.
Officer Truchaud:And Mister Shank is your boyfriend, correct?
Marnie Redd:Yes. Well, he was.
Officer Truchaud:He was? But he came here with you?
Marnie Redd:Some of our relationship issues came to light during this trip. It was a difficult decision. You know, he was my first great love. I think it’s going to take me a lot of timeto recover. And reflect. I don’t think I’ll be dating for a long while. Though I don’t want to get married too late. I want children. Two, hopefully. Maybe even three, if it feels right. I guess it will depend on the father, too. I think Ben would have made a great father.
Officer Truchaud:We didn’t ask you here to discuss your romantic situation. I’d just like to know who invited him to the party. The event in question was very exclusive and attended by prestigious names in the movie industry.
Marnie Redd:Ben had his own connections, but if you want specifics, I don’t know how he got invited.
Officer Truchaud:Did you two speak during the party?
Marnie Redd:Not really.
Officer Truchaud:You did or you didn’t?
Marnie Redd:I’m sorry, but I’m worried, you know? You’re telling us that someone died during the party. That they fell overboard. That’s what you said, right?
Officer Truchaud:I didn’t say that, actually. At this point, we can’t say if it was an accident or…something else.
Marnie Redd:That sounds… Wow, okay. This is very…upsetting. I’m not trying to… I respect what you do. I’m sure you have all these processes and protocols. It’s not every day I get asked about my whereabouts by a police officer.
Officer Truchaud:You seem nervous. Do you think you have anything to worry about?
Marnie Redd:I think anyone who was at that party should be worried. It’s an extremely worrying situation. I mean, maybe not for you, since you deal with dead bodies all the time.
Officer Truchaud:I don’t, actually.
Marnie Redd:Well that’s good.
Officer Truchaud:When was the last time you heard from Mister Shank?
