Dom bristles. “I took this job on because you vouched for the client. But I don’t know if I trust him.”

“He’s sound enough,” Kane says.

Kane doesn’t trust easily, so if he says he’s sound, then I have to believe they’re decent. Being a police officer and sergeant has taught me that not everything is black and white. Kane’s living proof of that.

“Do you ever trust anyone, though, Dom?” A grin tugs at my lips, remembering the photo of him tied up on his kitchen floor. “I heard you couldn’t trust your woman.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” He straightens his spine, his eyes narrowing as he looks between the two of us.

Kane’s shoulders shake with a silent laugh, as if recalling what I’m talking about.

“Dan said she’s good with a rope.” I bring the cool liquid to my lips to bite back my laugh.

“That fucker. I’ll string him up with the rope myself for telling you about that.”

Kane throws his arm around Dom. “He did more than tell us, mate. I’m pretty sure there was a picture.”

Dom shoves him off. “I’ll kill him.”

“Don’t be too hard on him. He was praising your girl for getting one over on you.”

“Yeah, I won’t be falling for her tricks again.”

I lean back against the ledge at the two women chatting over a game of pool. Lily certainly has a few tricks up her sleeve, that’s for sure. And I’ve already fallen for every single one. I thought I could just talk with her and find out what’s going on, but it’s not enough.

I pull my phone from my pocket, remembering to send her a message through the app.

I can’t make our call tonight. We can catch up tomorrow.

It takes her a while to check her phone. She’s too busy chatting with the redhead. But when Poppy takes her shot, she sneaks a peek at her phone, pulling it from the pocket on her ass in her tight faux leather leggings that fit around her thick thighs like a second skin.

My mouth waters thinking of peeling them off. A vibration in my hand brings me back to the present.

Boo, I was looking forward to seeing you.

I dart my gaze in her direction, scanning her face for disappointment, but she spreads her lips into a smile at something Poppy tells her. Clearly, she’s not at all bothered about me cancelling. She must say that to all her clients.

Leaning over the pool table to take her shot, her round ass stretches the faux leather fabric.

I’m staring like a fucking perv, thinking of all the things I want to do to her. She’ll be begging me to join her lives before long.

I get an idea.

Do you have a PO Box? I want to send you a gift.

LILLY

After setting up the call on my creator’s app, I fiddle with the lace frill on my satin shorts while I wait for him to join. My heart accelerates. I rarely get like this before a private call. Not since my first few times anyway, but this man makes my spine tingle.

The screen comes to life. A black shadow and outline of him barely visible in his dark room. “Hey, tr—.” He clears his throat. “Hey there.”

“Hello, sir.” I can’t contain my smile. “Do you prefer sir or sarge?”

He huffs what seems to be a laugh behind the black balaclava mask. “Sir is fine.”

“So are you a sergeant?” I hold my breath, thinking of another sergeant I know in the police force.
