"He can handle it." The dog wasn't even in the room. I heard him whining, then I heard knocking at the door.

"Mr. Frost!" I heard a man call through the door. "I hear you in there. Would you please answer the door?"

"Is that Eddie?" I asked incredulously.

Chloe giggled. "That’s what you get for hiring a drunk Santa as your security guard."

I slipped on my boxers. How dare he interrupt me? Who was paying his—well, not his salary, but I did give him cash. I threw the door open.

"Eddie, what the hell—"

"Mr. Frost," said Mark Holbrook.

Shit.

"I trust you're enjoying your Saturday," he said.

"How can I help you?" I cursed myself for not at least putting on pants.

"I was in the area and decided to take you up on your offer to look at the space you have for rent," Mark said smoothly.

Right. Of course he did.

"Okay, uh," I scrambled for a way to salvage the situation.

"Hey, Eddie," Chloe said, "do you need something to drink? Oh…"

She had at least put on a bra. She was still wearing a T-shirt and my boxers though.

"I see I've come at a bad time," Mark said. He was in a suit and looked polished. I knew he came from old money, and he was too well bred to make any sort of off-color comment. Instead he introduced himself to Chloe. She shook his hand.

"Would you like to come in?" she offered. "Jack can go put some clothes on."

I hurried back to the bedroom, muttering swear words under my breath. Why had Mark Holbrook chosennowto come by?

I heard Chloe talking to Mark. He was eating the last soup muffin as I walked out. Milo was sitting at Mark's feet, whining. Eddie was standing at the bar cart in the living room, drinking some of my expensive scotch.

"Eddie," I growled. "You are supposed to be in the lobby."

"Sure thing, boss," he said shambling to the door.

There was no way Mark was going to rent space in my tower. He clearly saw what kind of poor-quality operation I was running here at Frost Tower.

"This is an amazing muffin," Mark said when he saw me. "Have you had one of these, soup muffin, I think she calls it? It's amazing."

"They're a little bit better fresh out of the oven," Chloe said. "Sorry, it's all I had on hand. Jack doesn't keep food in his condo, so it's a constant struggle to make sure he's not eating takeout or sad little precooked meals."

Mark smiled. "Sounds like every billionaire bachelor I know. He's lucky to have you. Thanks for the muffin," he said, standing up and following me to the elevators.

"You have quite the eclectic bunch here," Mark said as we rode down to the creative office space.

"Yes, it's a work in progress. The tower is still somewhat new."

"I'm assuming Eddie is temporary," Mark said.

"Yes, my other security guard was arrested." I mentally hit myself. That didn't sound good.

"Arrested." Mark sounded mildly shocked.
