She pressed the silver-grey coat to her cheek.

"So soft," she purred. "This was too much money."

I was starting to wonder if I hadn’t gone a little overboard. The coat had been front and center on her Pinterest page, however, and she even wrote a comment under the image that she would literally sell a kidney for this coat. Maybe she hadn't meant it. Why pin the coat on her Pinterest if she didn't even want it?

Chloe stood up. "I can't wear this outside. It should be in a museum."

"You have to take it for a spin at least, take a few pictures," I told her.

"Do I look okay?" she asked me after I helped her slip her arms into the coat sleeves.

"You look—" She looked mysterious and sexy and almost erotic in the coat. It gave me a huge rush of pleasure to see her in items I had bought for her.

"Nice coat!" Eddie said, flashing her a thumbs-up as we walked out of the lobby.

Icy, snowy flakes were falling when we walked outside. I saw our reflection in the window of the Frost Tower lobby.

"We look like a pair of celebrities." Chloe laughed.

"You look like a celebrity," I corrected. "I look a bit slovenly." I wasn't wearing a suit, having opted instead for boots, thick canvas pants, and a long-sleeved T-shirt.

"Nonsense," she said, taking my arm. "You would look great in anything, though in this weather you look like an alien. I can't believe you're not cold."

Milo tugged towards the park. No one was out when we arrived, so I let him off his leash.

Chloe modelled while I took pictures of her in the falling snow. I took a great shot of her and Milo. She wasn't posing, just playing with the husky, pure joy on her face. I couldn't help but smile as I watched her.

The coat was huge on her. I loved how she looked like a puffy sticky bun or something. Tucking the phone into my pocket, I jogged over to her and swept her up. I ran my hand over the coat, feeling the curves of her body underneath.

"I want to take you home and rip those clothes off of you," I said, kissing her.

She looked up at me balefully. "You can carefully, gently take these lovely clothes off of me, and then you can have your way with me, Mr. Frost."

"I suppose we'll have to compromise," I murmured against her mouth. I pressed the fluffy Chloe ball against me and spun her around.

"It's like a Christmas movie," she said. She pulled me down for another kiss then snapped our picture.

"Hartleigh can suck on this," she muttered.

"Trouble in bake-off paradise?"

"It's nothing; it's petty. It doesn’t matter. I won last round."

I saw a flash of red in the trees. Milo looked in the direction and sniffed.

"Let's go," I said, my voice tense.

"Oh, wait, you don't have any food," Chloe said as we left the park.

"I told you I would order in something."

"No takeout for you while I'm around," she said emphatically. "I'm cooking."

We walked to the store, and I braced myself for a long food shopping session. We left Milo tied up outside, and Chloe handed me a basket.

"I'll be quick," Chloe promised.

She wasn't.
