“What the—” I looked down at the cake.

My brothers all immediately roared in laugher.

“That looks terrible,” Liam said.

I glowered. Instead of making the cake like I had drawn, Holly had literally drawn my drawing on the cake in icing.

There was a note card in the box.

I know Tess, and I think she will find this more endearing than a super well-designed cake.

Good luck and if that doesn’t work, just take off all your clothes and smear yourself in frosting!

Tess snickered as she read the note over my shoulder.

“I mean, she’s not wrong!”

“I wanted a nice cake,” I complained.

“But you drew this yourself,” she said. “And look! You even wrote, ‘Tess, you were right.’ Of course I was right.”

“Did you draw this with a crayon?” Greg asked.

“I tried my best.”

“Sometimes your best just isn’t good enough,” Enola said solemnly.

“And to think you were talking shit about Tess’s painting!” Mike snickered.

Beck was nestled against me when my alarm went off the next morning.

“I’m not going into work,” he said, kissing my neck. “I’m going to stay here with you.”

I ran my hand over his bare shoulder and along his strong back.

“You’re free to stay in bed all day, but I have a job interview.”

He opened his eyes and rolled me over. “Why?”

“Those HOA fees are not going to pay for themselves.”

“I’ll pay them.”

“I need to have some level of responsibility,” I told him, running my hands along his chest.

“I can have one of my brothers give you a job,” he offered.

“Shockingly,” I said, “I have it under control. And I need to shower before I’m late.”

The love of my life tipped his head down to kiss me along my collarbone down to my tits.

“Where is the job interview?” he asked then took a nipple in his mouth.
