“You have a plant?” he asked in surprise. The doormen usually managed the other residents’ plants and had offered to deal with the plants in my penthouse, but I had declined. I did not keep plants. I had always been afraid of the mess, but now I had to remind myself that Alfie was fine and was in fact playing in the dirt on a daily basis.
“It’s just a gift from a friend.”
“Must be some friend to get you to accept a plant,” the doorman joked as he swiped his key card at the private elevator to take me up to the penthouse.
When I walked into the penthouse, I tried to decide where to put the peace lily. It seemed a little sad and lonely in the expansive open kitchen-living area.Maybe in the study?
I set the plant on a table next to the large leather sofa.
I wouldn’t mind fucking Amy on that.
I had a meeting the next day, and I needed to sleep. I had been off my schedule lately.
But as I lay awake in bed, staring at the ceiling, I decided I should have just fucked Amy in her apartment. Because all I was going to think of was her perfect pussy.

Beep!Beep!
I blearily grabbed for my phone on the nightstand.
Hunter:You own a plant?
Sebastian:What the hell?
Hunter:Meg had an early morning meeting, and all anyone could talk about was that Amy gave you a huge plant at the seafood place last night.
Hunter:You’re the guy. You’re supposed to give her flowers.
Sebastian:Hunter, I mean this in the nicest possible way, but dude, you need a hobby or a job.
Hunter:I’m a stay-at-home older brother and the arm candy for Meg at city and state functions.
Hunter:By the way, the kids all invented a bath mat that grows mushrooms from the water droplets after a person showers. You’re about to be the proud owner of this new product.
Sebastian:Absolutely not.
I couldn’t have Amy over and have her see that.
Wait, I was going to bring Amy over to my house?
Why not?my sleep- and sex-deprived brain decided. It’s not like she hasn’t been there before.
As I did my morning workout, I tried to keep my thoughts from wandering to Amy. I had a big meeting that morning and an even more important one in the afternoon. I had to be a hundred percent focused.

My employees were strangely excitedto see me when I walked in.
Not that I was a bad boss, but they didn’t usually crowd in the conference room for our meetings.
“Did the latest trials with the muscle-building matrix go well?” I asked.
“Totally,” one of the technicians said, waving her hand. “It’s all in the report. We can go over it, but the basic summary is that we can proceed with FDA approval.”
“Great.”
My employees grinned maniacally at me. I gave them a questioning look.
