Jasmine shoved me toward Vance. “Why don’t you two go outside and talk and make out!”
Vance took his drink, and I followed him to the side door. A part of me wished it was Parker.
Forget about Parker. Once you lose your V-card, you’re going to print out that delicious shirtless picture of him and burn it on a funeral pyre—Viking style.
My mind immediately went to Parker and me doing it Viking style.
“Get it together,” I muttered.
“What?” Vance asked, leading me out to a small patio in the alley between the buildings.
“Nothing.”
“So you think I’m hot?” He grinned.
Not really.
“Yeah.” I drained my glass.
He took it from me and leaned over me. There was a piece of parsley in his teeth.
Don’t blow it. What if this is your only chance? The world could end tomorrow, and you could die without feeling the touch of a man.Though I really wanted Parker.
Parker is dead to us.
I pulled back.
“What’s the matter?” Vance asked, brow furrowed.
Now that I had a good look at him outside the dark bar, he really wasn’t anything remarkable.
You probably still have toffee in your hair, I reminded myself. “Maybe we should go somewhere more private?” I suggested.
“Okay!” Vance said, grabbing me around the waist and pulling me out of the alley. “So do you like really kinky stuff? I’ve never had a woman be so forward. I really dig it!”
“I, um—kinky like dress up in mascot costumes?”
Vance shrugged. “If you’re into costume play, I dig it.”
I had no idea what was going on. My sex education had come from romance novels, which weren’t all that relevant to real life.
“I have condoms,” I blurted out.
Vance raised an eyebrow. “You’re prepared.”
I pulled the long strand of condoms out of my jacket pocket.
“What size are they?”
Condoms come in sizes?“Regular?” I shrugged and looked closely at the packet. “It says they’re flavored.”
Vance looked at me oddly. I dropped the condom strand while trying to stuff it back into my pocket. When I bent down to pick it up, Vance bent down at the same time, and I banged my head against his.
“Ow!” I said, head spinning. I sat down on the sidewalk.
“You’re awkward,” Vance said, huffing a laugh.
“I’m just inexperienced,” I said then immediately realized what I’d done.
