We were twenty-hours out from Halloween. It was chaos in the Svensson household.

"How do you all not have costumes? You all had them for the Halloween party two weeks ago!" Hunter said irritably as Garrett and I helped his youngest brothers try on their outfits.

"They need new costumes, Hunter," Garrett said.

"Why?"

"Because that's how things are done on Halloween."

"You don't even like Halloween," Hunter scoffed.

"I'm a Halloween convert," Garrett insisted.

"I don't have time for this. I need to figure out who is running that bamboo straw factory."

"I don't want to do it anymore!" Oscar said.

"I thought you were an entrepreneur," Garrett said.

"I'm going to start a different company."

"Someone else can run this one," Billy said firmly.

"Not it!" Parker called out.

"I'll give you an intern," Hunter offered. "A couple of our brothers should be graduating from Harvard soon."

Parker groaned dramatically.

"I'll help," Remy said gruffly. "Just until you find a more permanent solution." He was hot-gluing feathers on Nate’s radioactive duck zombie costume.

"Remy needs to be the next Svensson brother to get hitched," Archer declared.

Hunter sighed.

"I would rather it be Hunter," Garrett said.

"You could do another themed costume with Meg and hand out candy at her house," I said, waving to Henry to come over so I could fix his costume.

Hunter scowled slightly.

"Make sure everyone checks their schedule," Garrett said. "I have an itinerary, your assignments, and your squad of children in your inboxes. We're not mobbing houses all at once. There are two kids per adult."

The majority of his adult brothers had come in from Manhattan, either to pass out candy or to chaperone trick-or-treaters.

"Weston, are you even listening?" Garrett snapped. I giggled as Garrett's younger brother unwrapped a piece of candy.

"That is Halloween candy, Weston. You put that back right now. I created a formula to estimate how many pieces of each we need. You're throwing off my counts," Garrett snapped at him.

"Ugh your counts."

He threw another piece at Josh and Eric, who were trying on their Halloween costumes.

"Our squad is themed," Josh told me. "We're all going to be werewolves."

"It that why Kenny is getting a brand-new costume?" Hunter asked.

"I think ours is better," Blade declared. "We're all going to be the Avengers."
